Maybe portable Notepad++ will suit you better.

The normal TAB behavior can be restored by turning off TextFX Settings +Disable
subclassing and advanced features. Several other features will disappear too
which is fine if you aren't using them.

Hi

Even if notepad++ 4.3 is overall working properly. It seems to have such
stability
problems. It is often crashing if I delete a files and I answer not keep the
delete file in notepad++.
And sometimes, it is crashing without determined reasons.

It seems that there is also a problem, whith the filing of the directory with
find in files if you use the two view with files in different directory. Open
notepad++ open two files in different directory put the file 2 in other view
and make a filed in files on the first view then the path is filed with path
of file 2.

Do you have TextFX Viz Settings +Viz capture keyboard Ctrl-C,X,V set? If so
then it's TextFX clipboard code that is crashing. Try TextFX Viz Copy Entire
Selection (no append).

>A command in the TextFX menu

Read the NPPTextFX\NPPTextFXdemo.TXT. Instructions for that and the rest are
in there.

>a way to specify TABs and CR-LF "characters"

The Ctrl+R dialog already has this. Look at the bottom of the dialog when it
first comes up.

^I=Tab ^M=Return

Minor correction:

It's not actually a column selection. It's a standard selection that begins
at the column you want sorted. The sort tool will sort the entire first line
even though you haven't selected all of it.

Let's look at this from a programmer's perspective.
  1. You have a text box for the file name.
  2. You have a drop down list box for the extension.
  3. You enter the file name in the text box.
  4. You choose the extension from the the drop down list box.
  5. You click Save.
  6. The program concatenates (joins together) the file name and the extension
into the final file name.
  7. The program SAVES the file with the new (concatenated) file name to disk.
  8. It's magic.
This seems like pretty simple stuff. Why can't this be done?

A replace sequence is a planned feature for the Ctrl+R replace dialog but it
hasn't been implemented yet.

Hello Jens,

I have tried this version 1.2 of SpellChecker. It work very well from usb and
from hard disk.
I have put into hard disk npp in 'C:\Programs\Notepad++' and Aspell installed
dictionary in
'C:\Programs\Notepad++\Aspell' so I have write the exact path in dialog box
of Your SpellChecker:
'C:\Programs\Notepad++\Aspell\bin' but this build do not write this path in
spellchecker.ini (even if I
edit it).
I think Spellchecker 1.2 do not support long pathnames. Do You can make a new
build for resolve this problem?

Thank You

+1!
that would be perfecr for me too. also it would be nice to change position of
the tabs:
at bottom or at top (maybe at right and left).

If you press Enter Ctrl+R will find and close. If you press the Find button
or Alt-F shortcut it will not. Pick your poison...

I'll repost my message
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1833757&forum_id=331753 as
bug reports have been requested in this thread:

I'm using the zip version of notepad++ 4.3 and have the following bug to report:

There's a crash when file status auto-detection 'update silently' is used and
the active (focused) document is moved / renamed.

To reproduce:
extract notepad++ zip and run notepad++.

In Preferences -> MISC check status auto-detection 'update silently'.

Open a text document.

Rename the document and place focus back in notepad++.

The message 'file x doesn't exist any more. Keep in editor?' pops up. Choose
No.

Notepad++ crashes.

I believe this crash occurred in versions earlier than 4.3 too.

Thanks to the developer(s) for otherwise great software and the nifty
AutoComplete
in 4.3!

Thanks

Rob

You start by downloading the Insertion plugin and try to implement something
very simple even though it might be useless. Once you learn how to communicate
with the editor component to get it to do what you want you can work towards
your special tool.
