If I understand correctly, you want to use Notepadd++ like an outliner. All
you need to do is add spaces at the beginning of each line, *one* for each level
of depth you want. Then use Language/Python. Because the Python language uses
indentation to specify blocks of code, this will give you access to the
collapsing
and expanding feature.

Great!
The Notepad++ folks should consider putting on their website that Notepad++
will not overwrite or remove the existing Notepad editor, so as to avoid
confusion.
-- Notepad replacement -- to me means that it will replace your current Notepad
editor.
Thanks.
David

According to http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/cmdLine-HOWTO.php, you can
start notepad++ with a parameter that takes you straight to a particular line
number.
To actually select text, I imagine you'd have to use a macro. Not sure how
you'd write the macro, or how you'd activate it.
If you're wanting this just for viewing log files, have you looked into
Logparser?
It's an unofficial Microsoft program written just for extracting information
from log files of various formats, and has very powerful search facilities.
It's a coomand line only utility, so it isn't for the faint hearted.

I'm not sure I understand the problem. The control+M has been rendered as a
newline, as it should (shouldn't it?). Have you tried View/Show End of Line
to reveal them? Is that what you want?

Notepad replacement in the meaning that you can tell the system to open sertain
file types wth NP++, which you opened with Notepad by default. It also can be
used as default html-viewer in IE etc, but all this features are configurable.

No update as yet, but not officially dead yet either; say rather in
hibernation...
You're welcome to pick it up! :-)

I think you should focus to update Npp-Plugins and Npp. The problem: Most of
the plugins, but not all, are on SF npp-plugins site. At the momemt the homepage
of this SF has no content. Therefore we can add a file for currently available
versions. Same should be done on Npp homepage.
For me it makes no sense to use a RSS feed, because it needs to be updated.
A special file (PHP, javascript or whatever) for this updater makes sense. This
needs also to be updated, but we know it is for the plugin. I don't know the
soluton in open source project Miranda, but we should have a look on it and
maybe we can use the code to improve the developing time.
Best Regards
Jens

Unfortunately, the wrap option in the CTRL+R Replace Dialog is checked by
default.
Like the wrap option in the CTRL+F Dialog I find this annoying. If I _would_
want searches to be wrapped, I would be triggered if searching again wouldn't
get me any further. If I do _not_ want a wrapped search, I only get to wonder
about this after having searched my document a couple of times... Why doesn't
it stop? So I would be pleased if the wrap option is unchecked by default.
I tried to replace a string of characters by another string.
After pushing the Find button I pushed the Replace Rest button, and nothing
much happened, except for NP++ to appear busy. After terminating and restarting
my search and replace action manually by pushing Replace & Find Again I noticed
my search string wasn't replaced. This is because my file is read-only. I would
suggest to not allow the replace buttons then. First, I wasn't aware of this,
so NP++ was searching and not replacing the strings over and over again because
of the checked wrap option.
So please uncheck all the wrapped search options by default.
Please also disable functionality if it can't be used anyway.

I know, that's why I mentioned I'm using subclassing temporarily. CCompletion
is also included in a passive way and I don't think it will interfere with
anything.
I'll of course release an updated version without subclassing, since I'm also
against it if there's no need. Performance reasons, if nothing else.
Thanks for the binary.
Regards,
Bostjan

I second steakhacher's request.
Something in the vein of converting
(HEXA) ABCDEF to (BINARY) 101010111100110111101111
and vice versa.
Thanks
