Me too, Ctrl+W would be ideal for this like in most of the other editors,
including
the original Notepad.

I solved it, hope it helps to the others too, there may be an easier solution,
but I can't find the original, built-in shortcuts (it may be in the registry
or elsewhere), only the user defined ones in shortcuts.xml:

Record a Word Wrap or any other desired action: click Start Recording, Word
Wrap, Stop Recording. Save the macro with Save current recorded macro with a
desired name, for example Wrap, and set it to an unused key combo (check the
combos in Settings / Shortcut Mapper), I advice the Ctrl+1 ... Ctrl+0. Then
it will work and show up in Shortcut Mapper and shortcuts.xml. Now the tricky
part (this was my main problem, the conflict), open Shortcut Mapper, set the
wanted but used combo (for example Ctrl+W) to an unused one (Ctrl+2) and then
set your saved combo (Wrap) to the desired one (Ctrl+W).

It was really logical, but somehow took one day to figure out, I just switched
to Notepad++ after UltraEdit ate one of my bigger projects and recently
introduced
Word Wrap problems.

I have found a bug where by Notepad++ 4.3 will crash when trying to double click
or file-open a .txt file that has no modified date. If I then open this file
in normal notepad and resave the file, Notepad++ with then open the file!

Woudl be great if you could fix this issue!

I bet the problem you are having is the same one I've been having, and recently
decided to use my brain and figure it out. My problem (opening a file --> crash)
was because the file was initially created on the desktop. If I renamed the
file, it would not open. If I copied, it would open. However, when I took the
file and moved it to my documents (I suspect I could have moved it anywhere),
the file would open. So I think it's something about a file that is initially
created (extracted from an archive, etc) on the desktop that causes the problem.
Hope that helps.

Here some to work with plugins:

How can I retrieve a list of plugin run by the user?
How can I find the current version of the plug in? Each plugin should be
queried.
The plugin should also tell me the URL where to look for the latest version,
as well as the URL for downloading the latest version.
How can I install the new plugin since the old one is running and and cannot
shut it off?

The above would be much easyer to implement in NPP... since it know the plugin
loaded.

I could push a request message through the queue, each plug in interested to
be updated would have to respond to the message with the necessary information
and let the original request through for other plugins to receive.

As a starting point I was thinking about NPP alone because I can get the version
form the module, check it somehow online and figure a way to create the URL
of the file to download and run. I can also issue a WM_CLOSE to try shutting
down the current version before installing. That much I could do.
Obviously it would be much easire to have a text file lastversion.dat with the
current version available online and a fixed URL for the last install file
instead
of a filename containing version information.

I experienced this problem for the first time today. My
%APPDATA%\Notepad++\config.xml file also had nothing in it and size zero. I
copied over the one from the applications directory and all is well. I am using
version 4.3.

The only thing I can add is that in the past two days I have installed True
Launch Bar, StyleXP, and changed my XP Desktop Theme via StyleXP. I have no
idea if this is related or not.

The only other thing I can think of is that I had XP BSOD on me about an hour
ago and Notepad++ may have been running at that time. It may be that the file
was corrupted some how due to the BSOD crash.

I was trying to create a macro using the Find/Replace function which I've since
found out by reading these posts that I can't really do that. A word on that
in a minute. My main problem is that I created, named and saved a macro which
turned out to have a flaw. I then recreated it minus the flaw and saved it
with the same name and shortcut. However, it shows up twice in my list of
macros.
Is there any way to delete an unwanted macro?

A note about using Find/Replace in a macro. I just started using Npp today
and think it's great so I still have a lot to learn but in my experimenting,
I found that if I put the cursor on a given line, start recording a macro and
then use Shift/right arrow to select the text, Ctl C, Ctl F, Ctl V, and then
use tab to work my way through the dialog box, hitting Enter when appropriate
then it seems to work. Basically, as long as I only use keystrokes I seem to
be getting some positive results. Like I said, I just started today so I
haven't
played much. I have to admit I am seeing a little behavior problem in that
I tried that method twice to use it to select a given line and then delete that
line and several following it but only the last macro I recorded seems to be
working properly while the first one seems to be using the Find Next from the
last one. Still, it has promise...or maybe not. Just thought I'd throw that
in, my main question has to do with deleting macros.

Thanks
