System is WinXP SP2 with 2GB RAM. Opening the file from the harddrive. All
I want to do is change 4 bytes of it. I get two crashes, first is a generic
Windows error stating that Notepad++ has caused an error, do I want to debug.
ModName in the details is SciLexer.dll. Then an AV error occurs, and then the
Notepad++ window disappears. I've configured the Hex editor plugin for .DAT
files.

Move the cursor to the top of the file.
Press CTRL+R to use the advanced Find/Replace Dialog using the following regular
expression in the Find field:
^(.+)$
Use the following expression in the Replace field:
exec:\1;
Check the Regular Expression checkbox, uncheck the Selection (NR) checkbox.
Press Find button.
Press Replace&FindAgain button.
If you want lines with _only_ numbers to be changed you can also use
^([0-9]+)$
in the Find field.
The \1 indicates that the found word (number in this case) will also be included
in the replace text.

When a document is closed, the current directory still points to that of the
now closed file. Of course, the current directory should be updated to reflect
the path to the now active document.
This can be checked by pressing CTRL+O to open a file. It opens the path to
the closed file.
A workaround is to switch manually to another document, so the current directory
_will_ be updated. Check again by pressing CTRL+O or selecting Save Me As...
The current directory should now be updated, that is, if Remember last operation
directory is unchecked.
When a file is closed, NP++ should "remove" all references to it. It should
close the file handle, and it should update the current directory to the now
active document.

but it's not easy and for a big firm for any people. UE is much easyer ;) but
