I never knew it was a programming tool. As far as I know it's only an editor,
and from the first message, it's only mediocre. Tough luck on the starter of

I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow I've changed the cursor style
(Notepad++
v4.1) from the basic Windows vertical bar to a dos-like underscore thing. Anyone
know how this happened and how I get it back to the original style?

thx, but another problem occurred !!
I can not enter Unicode characters in N++, It only use my codepage (1256).
I can enter Unicode characters directly by the keyboard in Windows Notepad.
what is the problem ?
p.s. : I am using Windows XP Pro SP2, and I have installed both English and
Persian(Farsi) keyboard

I think that it is not possible, but it would be very useful. Autoindent option
does exist, but it can not do much.
For example, if you write html code:
<table>
<tr>
<td>
</td>
</tr>
N++ can not move </tr> tag in line with the <tr> tag. I would like this
behaviour.

(the download links are somewhere at the bottom of the page).
Until they're included in the official releases, you can use Resource Hacker
or a similar program to replace the 'normal' icon of notepad++.exe with the
ones on the page mentioned above.

Personally, I hardly ever use the [delete] key for more than one or two
characters,
for the same reason you're mentioning.
I always select the text to delete using shift+navigation keys (home, end,
ctrl+left,
ctrl+right, left, right, up, down, page up, page down, etc).
