Then choose *.* as filter. This filter won't modify the file name - whatever
user types.

Neither in English.
I'll take a look at it as soon as I have the time.

Question was for Franco, who didn't seem to think about this situation.

Use AutoHotkey!
It is the solution for your custom hotkeys in applications.

It would be great if there would be a customizable hotkey to reopen the most
recently closed file.
There is the stack of recently closed files that would be easily opened
one-by-one.
This functionality already exists in webbrowsers (like in Firefox Ctrl+Shift+T)
to open recenly closed page.
I would use the Shift+Backspace combo for this function.

We have downloaded a version of Notepad++ from your site and it doesn't have
the color coding. How can we get it?
Thanks in advance!

Nevermind, we think we know why now. We figured it was the flashdrive isn't
2.0. Is that right?
Thanks anyway! Lol.

When editing a file with extension .dwt, Verbose Backup does NOT work. No backup
files are created.
If you change the Notepad settings to Simple backup, than a *.bak file
is created.
Regards,
John

I am also having trouble with 4.4
I have been using this editor for a long while now (couldn't give a date of
version, you'll just have to take my word ;)
The new auto-extension feature can be very annoying, At the moment i'm trying
to write something in C++, using extensions .cpp, .h, .template, and for
makefiles,
no extension at all. Maybe an easy fix is to have the option to turn the
auto-extension mode off, It's never bothered me having to type in an extension
when i save.
Apart from that, a great editor, hope to keep using it for a long time to come.

I don't know what JEdit do, but in notepad++ you have two views available. To
use it, make a right click on a tab and chose move to another view or clone
to another view. You can choose if screen is split horizontally or vertically
by clicking on separation and choose rotate
