I'm using Notepad++ 4.5. I set the New Document Encoding option so that new documents will be in UTF8. But the new document Notepad++ creates automatically when it launches is always ansi. Keep Notepad++ open and the next file created will be in utf8. How can I make the very first file automatically created in utf8 without bom when Notepad++ starts without manually setting its encoding? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. So, a mismatch of 8 locations. NPP 4.4 Anyone else has seen this? Is there a way to do simple math on selected text? E.g. I've highlighted "184.5" now I'd like to have 360 subtracted from it and replace the highlighted text with the result. Preferably by assigning a macro to a function key. Is this possible with np++? Thanks Brent ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Save uses the old 9x style dialog instead of the newer XP / Vista ones with the left sidebar on them. Open dialog is uneffected. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. That was very handy. With the current version of NP++ it will always start with the C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Notepad++\ until you browse once to the desired directory. I wish the old behavior could be back or at least the possibility to set a more useful starting directory since the ..\Application Data\Notepad++\ directory is basically useless. thx Tobias ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Exactly ... and I've tried as well all that ke3pup has done, with unfortunately the same results. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I found the answer after digging further in the forum: I have to Disable the "Remember the last operation directory" option. I would never have guessed this. Anyway. I'm glad its working again. thx Tobias ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
