I have a perl script that I am in the process of changing to PHP (dont ask me
why, wasnt my decision). In this script, there are probably 100 + perl subs.
Is there anyway to print out the function list so I can check off which
functions
I have done? If not, possibly can this be implemented in the future?

Hello! When I edit my html files, I want to see highlighted open and close tags.
When I move cursor (or mouse arrow) on open tag (ex. <table> ), I want to see
appropriate close tag (ex. </table>) for better visual control of my editing
file. Also highlight "<"-symbol and ">"-symbol, like as "(" and ")" or "{" and
"}".
Thanks.

Forget about this one.

I only realised later that this was due to the different font type used: bold
<-> normal.

It gave the impression the vertical edge line was not put correctly when checked
on a line with "bold" characters.

Works fine, sorry for the unnecessary thread created.

Best rgds,

Perhaps the other questions, or answers to them, might (be of) help:

What is the current directory when you try this?
-> Choose Open File instead of trying to save first. Which directory is shown?

What is your setting for "Remember last operation directory" in Settings?
-> Glad it worked, although only once.

What directory is Notepad++ installed in?
-> Perhaps an other directory might not have this problem.

Did you check the option "Don't use %ApplicationData% folder" on installation?
-> Perhaps if you do, you won't have the problem.

Be careful here, I'm a little dyslectic.
When you say "should" I might just shoot.

> The opened document can't be appended in any way when you open another file.
> Otherwise I'll be the first person who refused to use Notepad++ :)

This was just to demonstrate the effect of current session behavior.

I'm not saying you should implement project handling behavior, but I think it
understandable to compare session( file)s with projects in a programming IDE,
for instance.
When I open another project in say Delphi, all currently opened files (from
the current project) will be closed. When I save the project again, it has no
files that weren't in it before.

Perhaps you could add an option in settings to close all currently opened files
first when opening a session. Of course it is possible to do that manually at
the moment.

ok below is Answers to your Questions and Result of your suggestions:

Q1) What is the current directory when you try this?
-> Choose Open File instead of trying to save first. Which directory is shown?

ANSWER:

C:\Program Files\NotepadPlusPlus\ (when Notepad++ in installed in that directory
Path)
C:\NotepadPP (when Notepad++ in installed in that directory Path)

NOTE: Previously i had installed Notepad++ in Default directory of:

"C:\Program Files\Notepad++\"
But that kept crashing too so i tried to install in a different directory!

Q2) What is your setting for "Remember last operation directory" in Settings?

ANSWER: Check/Unchecked DOES NOT make a difference, it crashes with the setting
is
        either check or unchecked.

Q3)What directory is Notepad++ installed in?
-> Perhaps an other directory might not have this problem.

ANSWER:

i have tried the default directory of:
      "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\"
   have also tried:
       "C:\Program Files\NotepadPlusPlus\
   AND
       "C:\NotepadPP"

Q4) Did you check the option "Don't use %ApplicationData% folder" on
installation?
-> Perhaps if you do, you won't have the problem.

ANSWER: i tried to install with both the ""Don't use %ApplicationData% folder"
checked and unchecked with no luck, notepad++ keeps crashing on Save or Save as.

Hi all,

When opening documents from the Explorer right-click context menu, I would like
them to show up in a new window. I know that you can use -multiInst to create
a new notepad instance, is there a specific registry key I can edit to add this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well no, no, no and maybe :)
Its not for Don, the plugin just has to copy the buffer into memory and uplaod
the data on its own. Im just not really sure if its worth implementing though,
it may trigger usability problems. Regular files have a clear way of telling
if their are modified or not, the buffer doesnt(its always 'modified')
Additionally,
if you were to uplaod it to the FTP, chances are very high you have to edit
or retrieve the file later on.

As for the connectivity issue in 1.44, the strange this is, is that 1.44 has
changed nothing in comparison with 1.43 on the network side, its just a minor
fix on the parser. Does any error of any kind show up in the log or as a
message?
Also, can you check your CPU suage, I have reports of it increasing to 99% (but
notepad will probably not lock up since its threaded)
