It doesn't seem that anyone is really doing anything about this problem.
Why?
It seems to me that it should be very easy to reduplicate the problem. I have
the very same as thoroughly described in the previous messages.

If you want someone else to make all the work while you wait for us to implement
it for you,
that is not a very friendly attitude.
We spend a considerable time already on maintaining and developing Notepad++.
In order to get more out of us, you should consider trading in some of your
time and efforts in return.

Well, perhaps I expressed myself poorly. I apaologize for that, if so. It's
just that when I've reported problems on other software, issues, usualyy one
gets a reply or two that one's fo;;owing it up, possibly there's a bug, et...and
it will be addressed, if so, in the next release. If needs be. But it's been
frustrating not to be able to read and note at least that.
I don't know why you haven't reduplicated the "problem", but several others
also have it and we can't resolve it on our own...others, that is who haven't
written any messages here.
In any event, I realize all the work that goes into such a project as Notepad++
and I'm very grateful for all the efforts one does make in trying to improve
and enhance the program. Very grateful and glad indeed.
I hope the next release will "fix" the problem not here...for me and others.

My question was: what about Open File -> change it -> Save it -> then Save As?
If anyone is complaining nobody is trying to be of any help or to solve the
problem, I guess I should stop my efforts now. Are you blind or what???

1. We may need more than a simple complaint as "this doesn't work". Describe
your problem and the circumstances under which it occurs and probably under
which it doesn't occur. If you are specific about things, you yourself may be
of great help in solving any problem.
2. We may ask questions that may help guiding towards a solution. We do not
have a medicine right-away and we won't always know if a medicine _will_ work.
Do you blame your doctor if he wasn't successful in curing your disease?

tab popup menu -> i think is hardcoded
shortcut in the Run menu -> edit the shortcut.xml in Notepad++ direction
I compare the new english.xml and the old one, with the 'Compere Plugin' form
the Downloadsite.
But now i looked at all men?s and find new one. And looked also with Rehacker
for the Item id number.

Well...I can't tell who Nobody is. If Nobody's like me...hopefully not...then
we're at a loss, as I'm not a programmer or developper and can only offer
mysymptoms
up.
Anyways, I decided to uninstall again 4.5 and start with 4.0. It functions
fine.
No crashing with all that's been noted above.
I don't have the time just now, but perhaps...just a thought, you know...one
could, work up towards 4.5, starting with 4.0 and note where, in what release
the above mentioned "probelms" or bugs or whatever yuou want to call iall this,
where this first occurs on an XP sp2 default setup?

Just a thought. Then ne could possibly more easily narrow one's search for
what changed that's possibly causing the issues in this thread.

I use Notepad++ as my replacement on Windows XP x86 all the time, but under
Windows XP x64, there is no way of overwriting the x64 version of notepad.exe
to truly replace it.
I have tried everything under the sun but to no avail. If anyone has a fix for
this, please reply here.
