I've found a minor bug in version 4.5
The line number margin setting is only possible for the primary view, I can't
change the secondary view. If I try, I also change the primary view.
[menu Settings \ Preferences \ Edit Components \ Display Line number margin]
But NP++ 4.5 is the best version so far! Good work Don, thank you!

A few things spring to mind:
1) I think that the old save dialog had one of those bars at the side with my
docs, etc in it. I would like one of those where I can add my own locations
(I think you can do this in office 2007, if you want an example) - that would
be useful. It's not very important though.
2)Feature Request: It would be really cool if there was an update feature in
the program, where it could just update automatically (or when you click a menu
item, I would prefer that myself, but others like it to do so for them). Again,
this is not a necessity, but it would be nice to see.

i just tried the npp3rdTry.zip as well with successful result too, below is
from the log file:
1.0 doSaveDlg
3.2 Problem : uMsg == 48
2.0 WM_INITDIALOG
2.1 after goToCenter(hFileDlg);
1.1 After ::GetSaveFileName(&_ofn)?_fileName:NULL;
File->"Save as" , File->"Save Session", File->Save (on new document) all work
as expected. :) "remember last working directory" is also working as expected.

No need to reboot your machine to test.
As I said, I know where is the problem but I don't know why.
For the npp3rdTry, I just disabled a part of feature.
I'll try to find a solution. And I will post the new binary to test as soon
as I can.

Please try the nppSecond.zip and post your result.
The npp3rd.zip is not the final solution : I disable one part of feature.
To remedy this problem, I need this more results from the others as possible.
