I've got some programs I've written in Delphi, mainly having to do with cleaning
up .txt e-books to make them easier to read on a computer screen (Scripted
Search-and-Replace, Auto-generating Table of Contents, etc). I would love to
convert them to Notepad++ plugins to take advantage of its superior editing
capabilities. However, I'm having a hard time getting started. My main problem
is figuring out how to use the Notepad++ and Scintilla messages. I've looked
through the plugins How-To page, but it assumes you're programming in C. I've
downloaded and compiled the Delphi plugin template, but it doesn't have any
examples of using the messages. I've downloaded the source code to several
plugins that were written in Delphi, but they're all way too complex to
understand.
I've scoured these forums for anything that mentions Delphi, to no avail. So
I was wondering if someone who programs in Delphi would be willing to help me
out.
Here's my idea. I'd like someone to write a plugin, in Delphi, that replaces
the currently selected text with "Hello World." (Or some other simple example
that shows how to interface with the text) If you just want to post the source
code to this thread instead of creating a new SourceForge project for this
otherwise
pointless example, that's fine. Hopefully it will be as simple as it sounds.
Once I get over this first hurdle, I hope to have several plugins available
soon to finally show my appreciation for everyone's hard work.

I don't think there's a way to delete Macros from within the program, but you
can do it by editing the shortcuts.xml file.
Open the shortcuts.xml file in Notepad++ (or any other text editor). Find the
macro you want to delete. It will start with something like:
<Macro name="Something" Ctrl="yes" Alt="no" Shift="no" Key="49">
The "Something" above will be the Macro's name. Delete that line and all
subsequent
lines up to the next "</Macro>". Then re-start Notepad++ and it should
be deleted.
As for deleting saved Run... commands, I have no idea. Hopefully somebody else
can help you with this.

Do you mean setting up a keyboard shortcut for the View -> Wrap menu item?
If so, you can use a macro to do it.
Perform the following steps:
Macro -> Start Recording
View -> Wrap
Macro -> Stop Recording
Macro -> Save current recorded macro
Give it a name and shortcut, and hit OK. I use CTRL-W, but that was already
defined in the shortcut mapper by default, so I had to redefine it first.

Hi Nobody.
Have you looked at dbgp plugin. I know it looks horribly complicated. You just
need to make a clean cut between the framework code and useful code. I don't
want to open a new SF project; that would be just wasting good disk space.
If you're interested, drop me a mail and I'll send you an example. I wanted
to prepare an example for some time now.. One of these days, I'm sure I'll find
some time to submit it. q:)

I agree with your assessment, that my original message was lengthy and in the
context of a product forum it could be spam, flaming, inappropriate, preachy,
or all of those. To those that see it that way I apologize. So that I don't
perpetuate that offense this correction to misgivings I fostered in that post
will be my last contribution regarding Notepad++.
In the context of contributing to Notepad++ I made the case for removal of
something
that, according to "Barna Surveys," would be found offensive to 70% of Americans
to name just one country of potential Notepad++ users. I was the messenger,
but my comments were not about me, they were about choice and responsibility
affecting the product quality and acceptance.
If someone made the case why the error message in question is what it is for
helpful, professional, or design practice reasons I missed it. If they thought
it would make Notepad++ more appealing to the masses, I'm obviously missing
that point too, otherwise I would say Notepad++ would be better served by taking
the high road, and that suggestion is meant to be helpful to both the product

I don't know EVERYTHING, but i do know in this situation it works as intended.
