I see some nice additions!

I tried "Compare to last save", that's what I would call it instead of "Show
changes since last save". It's a compare plug-in right, not a "show changes"
plug-in.

I really like this feature. However, when my files match, after clicking OK
to that message, the second view is closed immediately. Perhaps you could make
this optional. At first, I wouldn't expect the second view to close, then.

Secondly, the second view isn't shown in the same language as the source
document.
If you could add this also, that would be very nice. Please make sure the
language
is the same as the opened document's, which is not necessarily the same as the
file's extension. It may have been set to somethinig else in N++.

Actually, I am beginning to wonder now what the use of this Plug-In may be,
reading the first note:

"Using or clearing the compare plugin will cause the undo buffer to be cleared.
Unfortuntely, by adding lines, the editor no longer knows where the edit was,
and would put it in a random spot."

So, I can compare my edited file to the last save, notice what is different
and then, when clearing the Compare Plug-In, start all over again??

You may see Name of your language in "languages" under "Userdefine" at the end
of menu selection at the bottom.
And you must have a userdefineLang.xml in Installdir of N++!

I think that I can understand what thuffir means:

he wants well-defined tabstobs and the proposal of using a tab-size of 10
doesn't
make sense in that case.

here another example:

   pos1-- pos2-- pos3--
         \ \ \
__________copy______mov si, ax___________________; move source address
to si-reg
____________________mov di, bx___________________; move destination address
to di-reg

when he is at the beginning of the line and presses tab he wants to reach pos1.
after the label (here: copy) he presses tab again and reaches pos2. after then
mnemonics he reaches pos3 by pressing tab. with a well-defined size of the tab
stops, the code would look like this:

__________copy__________mov si, ax____________________; comment
____________________mov di, bx____________________; comment
__________biglabel_________longer mnemonic____________________; comment

and I think than an editor does need such a functionality for writing assembler
code. and using a word processor for writing assembler? no, sorry...

Perhaps you could simply create two new documents when comparing with the option
Match Lines. This would leave the edited document and its undo buffer intact.
This may even be of help in editing the document itself, while the compared
copy still has the change marks.

I think that NppExec must support MustDie9x while Notepad++ supports it. Thus,
we can not have real Unicode controls (created with CreateWindowW instead of
CreateWindowA) in this plugin. Therefore each Unicode string must be converted
to ANSI to be shown correctly in non-Unicode window.
I can add one more menu item - "UTF-8 Console Output". This menu item will mean
the following: a UTF-8 text is read from the console process'es output, then
this text is converted to UCS2-LE (Unicode in Windows) and, finally, from
UCS2-LE
to ANSI.

However, the latest sources of NppExec can be built as Unicode version. But
the Unicode version:
1) will not work under MustDie9x
2) will not be compatible with current implementation of Notepad++
3) is not completely tested.

Regarding the points 1 and 2: if nobody cares about MustDie9x anymore, then
I could modify the plugin to have a pure Unicode user interface (windows,
dialogs,
controls) and the ANSI internal interface with Notepad++. I.e. the Unicode
inside,
but will work only under Windows 2000/XP/2003/hasta la Vista/etc.

By the way, this conversion: from UCS2-LE to ANSI - will not allow you to see
correct characters which are not supported by your current locale. So, as far
as I know, there is no way to see, for example, hieroglyphics properly without
Unicode user's interface when your locale does not support the hieroglyphics.

Have no problems opening .NFO files. (4.6 N++)
The thing is that there is a collision between .NFO type files. There are to
different types of files, that have a .NFO extension.
There is a REAL .NFO file, that has a bunch of computer inside statistics, thats
being opened by a buildin macro, and there is a text description .NFO file,
that follow different distrib releases. As you understand N++ cant open a REAL
.NFO file, cause its not a TEXT file, and that leads to a hang or crash.
