The best for me is something on the left side bar (i.e changing the colour
of the bookmarks bar that already exist) but other ideas could be better....

As you describe would be a most excellent feature (with left side bar indicator)
but since so few (?) programs do this, perhaps there's an unkind amount of
overhead.
I sure would like to see it though.

Ah, azeri-latin! (so many choices for Azeri).

Your symbols show here in Npp. Assuming that there is no bug like the present
one that affects Farsi (converting 06CC to 064A, fixed for scite but not yet
for Npp), then your problem is almost certainly the Palatino font you're using.

The reason that font may still work in Windows Notepad is because Windows still
supports old encodings, and those symbols in your version of Palatino are
probably
encoded with an old encoding.

Best
Idris

PS Azeri still looks best in Farsi script ;-)

Allo, I had a question about the installer for Notepad++(for Don specifically).

I just made my own nsis install script, albeit simple, that does about the same
thing the normal ones does, without the notepad icon/symbol/things, and its
just over half the size of yours. now, mine doesn't have the options to make
it portable or things like that, it just places the files, but I was wondering
about the disparity...

[For reference and relevance issues, I was using this as a project so I could
learn the nsis script install language, but meh...]

Just wondering.

I really want this feature as well! It's already kindof possible (you can turn
on the indentation stuff in the options panel), but you still have to press
tab yourself. I know it's not going to get me killed but it would make Npp a
bit more enjoyable to use.

I'm with you on this one bro.

Simon, your isctructions are very good: now I get highlighting! :-)
Now I still need 2 advices:
- How can I activate auto-completion? ATM it doesn't work with mShell (neither
with other user-defined languages I tested);
- Which criteria should have I to use to insert a word into a group or
in another?

PS you are not a mShell user, so I'm very impressed how deeply you went into
language to do the job.

update: when i exit np++ and run it again, then the shortcut ctrl+d does not
work again... i have to switch 'delete line' to ctrl+shift+d, click ok, and
then change it back to ctrl+d... and then it works... anybody has the same
problem?

The deletebetweentags function in SimpleScript may be what you're looking for.
You could download the beta now or wait until I put the 1.0 version up,
hopefully
this weekend. In comparing my source for the 0.9 and the 1.0 version, it looks
like the deletebetweentags function wasn't one of the ones I needed to fix,
so it should work fine in the beta.

Let me know if you need any help in using it.

Excellent!
Where are you getting the requirements?
And who are you giving them to?
Outstanding... Maybe we can all help.

Is it possible to get a multi-line find and replace feature? I think it would
be useful.

I can confirm this bug on my XP+SP2 machine. The "open dialog" displays the
left sidebar, however the "save dialog" displays no sidebar (like good old 9x).
I use version 4.6--can it be possible that this is a registry issue? The file
to save is just a "New 1" file.

The "left sidebar" is correctly called "Places Bar", this is missing in the
save dialog.
