In that case, download the zip file with the program and extract it somewhere
else, and see if that configuration starts slow aswell. If it does, maybe oyu
need to check on the health of your OS, defrag maybe?
If it doesn't, it may be one of Notepad's settings, see if you can find what
option in config.xml makes it so slow. Notepad starting without any open files
should go in the blink of an eye (without any plugins that is). using
doLocalConf.xml
may have impact aswell as the configuration files are moved somewhere else and
thus may cause a wierd delay.

My CLSID InprocServer32 data is: M:\Program Files\Notepad++\nppcm.dll
which is the correct path on my system.
(I used the self installer with v4.6 and would expect the registry entries to
be correct)

Thanks for the responses guys, but several of you are misunderstanding what
I'm trying to do. I want to search using regex and replace with text that
contains
a literal "\t", a backslash followed by the letter T.
The intuitive (at least to programmers) way of doing this is that "\\" is a
literal backslash and it won't escape things, i.e. "\\t" would turn into "\t"
not "\<tab>" when the search and replace was done.

Hi,
Try Settings=>Preference=>Global=>Auto Indent
OTOH Npp will not auto-indent long lines when Wrap is enabled, so I tend to
avoid trying to indent whole sections etc. while I'm composing them.

I bookmarked some lines in the search. I want a filter kind of thing that I
have to view only the bookmarked lines and rest of the lines are not interested
to me that I wanted to delete or hide them. Is this feature available??

You could use a tool like FileMon to see what file is expected exactly where.

I am one of the User of Notepad++
when there are long line in any file we use word wrap functionality
for e.g. following lines with word wrap
$previous_link = "<a href=\"$previous_URL\"

border='0'align='absmiddle'")." "
."Previous"."</a>";
As you see it is when it is wrapped it is showing in the next line but it starts
from 1st column which start from column in the above line
sothat the view doesn't distorted . like this
