E-texteditor looks very similar in layout to Notepad++. I want a good text editor to help we with Ruby on Rails. I'm currently using Notepad++, but am experimenting with Aptana RadRails. Anyone know if Notepad++ will ever have the power of TextMate? I'm particularly interested in the folder explorer as a left panel. In fact, I don't think there is any solution for this problem when starting Notepad++ without any files (from a previous session) opened. Well, you could try setting the "Start in" folder of the Notepad++ shortcut, but I'm not so sure Notepad++ itself will like that very much. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Now everytime starting Notepad++ als non-privileged user I get the following error-message from FTP_synchronize: "FTP_synchronize No settings were available and unable to create new settingsfile. The plugin will not work!" Starting Notepad++ as local administrator works without this errormessage. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I only use Notepad++ for this, because the Query Analyzer isn't that much of an "editor". I only use that to run my scripts or fix some small bugs when they appear. For all other edits I also use Notepad++. The big advantage is the load of features, ease of editing and of course, using only one editor requires remembering and knowing only one set of shortcut keys to use. So, Notepad++ is also a great tool for non-programmers. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I thought it would be good to say it because I have updated always this and many other open source programs whose updates keep working under the "oldie". I am not the only one who keeps using Windows 98 SE nor the only one who thinks this way, you may be sure. Happy New Year to you all!!! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I renamed the plugin folder, which seemed to have a little effect, but the difference before and from version 4.7 is still noticeable. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Unfortunately, although I marked the entry during installation, I do not have the context menu entry to open a text file (or whatever) with notepad++. Is this due to the distinction of 32bit and 64bit programs (and therefore the program folder) under Vista 64 bit? Is there a workaround? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. That would be very helpful if the user is programming. For example, suppose the user is programming in ASM, he can simply open console from the toolbar, type 'MASM xxxx.asm' to compile the program, needn't to change the directory manually. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
