And who needs a documentation for a text editor? If you can't figure that out
then you shouldn't work in IT.
I agree that a sample plugin or a better plugin interface would be helpful but
that will come in time and the wiki page will surely help.
Anyway, the best way to treat people who are ignoring the free aspect of this
software and whining like a bunch of annoying no clue customers is to ban them.
Unfortunately, SF seems to lack such facilities.

This release should be the final release of v4.7.X.
The differences between the v4.7.2 and v.4.7.3 are :
1. The installer is enhanced.
2. Fix horizontal scroll bug regarding the folding issue.
3. Add a new behaviour that click on active tab of inactive view will make the
inactive view as current view.
4. FTP_synchronize is updated.
Please report here if you find any critical problem.
If there's no critical problem found, I'll make updater point to this version,
so that the update will be applied automatically.

I upgraded to Notepad 4.7.2 and when I for instance choose
C:\Program Files\GanttPV\GanttPV.exe or C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta
2\firefox.exe
the program doesn't launch. If I manually change Program Files to Progra~1 it
fixes the error for GanttPV program.

Forgot to mention I'm using Windows Server 2003 SP1. I also tried with no
plugins.
Same result.
Also Unicode files do not seem to open when you drag and drop them into the
editor. If you do that it says "File C:/backup/?????????????. ???" doesn't
exist.
Create? If you click no the program exits with an exception error. The crash
doesn't occur in 4.5th version, but obviously that version doesn't open Unicode
files too.

This isn't a critical bug, but an annoyance that just started happening with
this latest version: When the word wrap is selected, every new line you either
click or move up/down with the arrow keys makes the horizontal scrollbar briefly
appear then disappear.
So, it flickers like this when you scroll through a document.

Why not just make the horizontal scrollbar as long as the longest line in the
document, instead of recalculating it every time visible text changes?

I agree that having it be able to load a template without requiring a script
would be easier. My main concern is that this is entirely separate from the
purpose of Simple Script in the first place. While using a script to generate
a new document makes sense, you're talking about having a separate section that
has nothing to do with scripts. That might be getting a little too far from
the original purpose of the plugin. I'll consider it, but I don't know if I'm
willing to go that far.
Your example of SQL scripts to add columns to a table sounds like something
that the merge function could handle, although not in its current state. Once
I start introducing variables, I plan to change the behavior of the merge
function
so that it doesn't work from the clipboard, but directly from a text parameter
(usually a variable). I could definitely add functions to read in variables
from a file. If you read the entire file into a single variable, you could
then use the merge function to generate the script.
This is another bonus of using scripts to generate the document; so that you
could do things like that.
The other thing I was thinking was a way to let the user input data directly
when it loads the template. In essence, there would be a syntax for defining
variables in the document, and a function to look up all of these variables,
prompt the user for their values, and then replace them all in the document.
Or maybe two functions: one to read in the variables from the document, and
one to replace them. That way you could read the variables to use them later
without having to replace them immediately.
For example, if the document is:
Hello, <<%Name%>>. You are <<%Name%>>, are you not? My name is <<%Name2%>>.
and you run the functions:
GetVariables(): Prompts the user for the values of all of the variables in the
document.
ReplaceVariables(): Replaces all variables in the document with their respective
values.
It would recognize <<Name>> and <<Name2>> as variables. It would prompt the
user for the values of these two variables, then replace them, resulting in
something like:
Hello, John. You are John, are you not? My name is Larry.
It would be sort of a "Mad Libs" style of replacing variables with user-entered
data.

Why the wrap mode need a horizontal scroll bar? In the previous, the wrap mode
got no horizontal scroll bar.
Why don't just show horizontal scroll bar for non wrap mode?
