The configuration of File association is very difficult to set. Every time,
only one file type can be set..

What do you mean by "only one file type can be set"?

I found this temporal solution while searching on Google, it worked OK for me,
try it, I'm running Notepad++ 4.7.5 on Windows Vista Ultimate. URL:

Notepad++ and the Gup
Posted December 6, 2007

Random tip: When running Windows Vista and launching Notepad++ you may get a
gup.exe user elevation prompt. This is the auto-updater feature of Notepad++.
I advise disabling it until the developers can make it less intrusive.

To disable the auto-updater, do the following:

   1. Launch Notepad++
   2. Go to Settings > Preferences
   3. Click the MISC tab
   4. Uncheck the bottom checkbox labeled ?Enable Notepad++ auto-updater?

Hi

I love notepad++. But I agree with its idea. It could be so good if it was
easily
possible to align text with column mode insert and just clicking on tab
especially
for those who are making microelectronic design (vhdl and verilog) and may be
for some others...

Thanks

Hello guys,

I was wondering that it's my fault that I can't make it, or what?

Here are the details.

I compile my programs with gcc (on Windows, but irrelevant). When I compile,
gcc requests two cmd-parameters: the input file and the filename of the output
file. Here's the syntax:

     >> gcc WHATEVER.C -o WHATEVER.EXE

I use N++ for editing my source-codes and I set up a hot key for compiling with
gcc. Here's the trick: there's only one env. variable which is good to
me: FULL_CURRENT_PATH

But the -o parameter of gcc needs an exe filename, and it would be good the
same filname as the source code. (So WHATEVER.C ==> WHATEVER.EXE)

So, it would be good, if a new env. var was available, which shows the full
path and the filename BUT WITHOUT ITS EXTENSION. (*.C, *.cs,*cpp, whatever...)

So if the WHATEVER.C would be in D:\, then a new env.var, named
FULL_CURRENT_PATH_/w_EXT,
show:
     D:\WHATEVER

I know in this case, the CURRENT_DIRECTORY will confuse, if there was a
WHATEVER folder on D. But then how can it be solved?

Thanks for replying and reading it,

Daneey

I will have a look today on my system. Here on XP it works well.
Another question: Do you have installed the NativeLang.dll?

Best Regards
Jens

There are also NPP_SAVE and NPP_SAVEALL commands which can be placed in the
beginning of your script. For more information, type in the NppExec's Console:
help
help npp_save
help npp_saveall
Also, you can change the action of NppExec's toolbar button.
See "NppExec_TechInfo.txt", parameter "ToolbarBtn" for more details.

Congratulation to the anonymous registry handler, you worked that out very
beautifully. *Thumbs up^*

Would you share also the other extension, if you have?
You can take it to an free hoster.

Thanks Man.

I had NP++ 4.3 on my computer, I uninstalled it, I downloaded NP++ 4.7.5 but
I can't get it installed because setup hangs. I choose all the default options,
and when I click on the "details" button the last line says "Extract:
stylers.model.xml... 100%". The progress bar just keeps hanging at about 10%
of the total. I keep on waiting for ever, but nothing more happens. I can't
even cancel or close the installer. All I can do is ending the process. Somebody
any idea? I'm using Windows XP SP2 (English version) with all recent updates...

Hi!

Thank you!

The NAME_PART variable solves my problem. Together with the CURRENT_DIRECTORY
variable, my problem has been solved.

But there's another question:
how can I pause the output of the compiler to check whether there's any error?
or in other words, how can I put more than one command in a Windows prompt (a
gcc and a PAUSE command, for example?)

Thanks in advance,
Daneey
