Usually, simply renaming the file or copying it into the same folder allows Notepad++ to open the file. For example, I double-click on the following file: C:\Documents and Settings\cclg\My Documents\file.txt Notepad++ fails, and the error report's signature has the following information: App-Name: notepad++.exe AppVer: 4.7.5.0 ModName: notepad++.exe ModVer: 4.7.5.0 Offset: 000578fb If I simply copy and paste that file, so that its path becomes C:\Documents and Settings\cclg\My Documents\Copy of file.txt Then Notepad++ will happily open it when I double-click on it. I've tried removing all the plugins (I've not installed anything other than the basic application), but it makes no difference. I've just upgraded from 4.5.0 to 4.7.5 but the behaviour is identical. Any ideas? I'd say Notepad++ is failing on the majority of files in this way. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. However, the current state of the interface translation to Lithuanian is awful. There are too many errors and untranslated strings to be usable. At this state it should be removed as it only hinders Lithuanian users' experience using the program and I don't believe any of it could be reused to make a proper Lithuanian translation. Yours sincerely, Domas Jokubauskis ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. And that's a life saver sometimes... There's any way i can do that in notepad++ (i need to replace chuncks of HTML code in some pages)? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Didn't work. Still get "It's not a valid GUP XML" error. This is only happening on my system at work where I'm using the ZIP version of NPP (since I don't have to run an install) and I'm behind a firewall and using a proxy. At home, behind a firewall (no proxy) and using the installation it works great! Therefore, it might something related to the proxy or some port being blocked. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I did run into a bug when downloading from an IIS FTP site... when FTP_synchronize goes to cache the path information, it cannot. I assume this is because the root on this Windows machine I'm connecting to is D:\, and I'm guessing that's causing the problem. Works great on Linux FTPs though ;) Anyway, no big rush on my part, but I thought you might like to know. Thanks again, & keep up the good work! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Of course, there are other tools that can perform similar or even more difficult tasks. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. This has to do with the length of the regex. Try and find that message! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
