What exactly do you mean by 2 different views? 2. Did you perhaps find anything about this or a similar question and answer on the forum? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Yes, we all want things to be fixed or added first that we use or like the most. I guess you better start looking for an editor that doesn't cause this kind of frustration to you. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Try this: 1) Create a window with this: ABC DEF ABCDEF 2) Select ABC and then ctrl-C to copy it to clipboard 3) TextFX Viz->Hide all lines containing clipboard text (this should hide 'DEF') 4) TextFX Vix->Delete Invisible Selection I presume step 4 should delete the line DEF but it doesn't. (How does one show all lines? I switch from and then back to the window to do that --when I do it, the line with DEF is back). What am I doing wrong? I'm using version 4.7.5 ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I want to make a shortcut on my desktop, when clicking on it, it opens up 2 files in Notepad++ in split screen (the files in separate "Views"). If i just make it like this: notepad++.exe "file1.txt" "file2.txt" it opens the 2 files in 2 tabs in the same "View". - Not what i need. My question again; is it possible to open 2 or more text files, where each text file opens in it's own "View"? Use something in the find field like ^.*typeyourwordhere.*$ where typeyourwordhere is the word you're looking for. Leave the replace field blank. You could also add spaces before and after the word or any other characters making the expression match even better the exact lines. This will result in all lines containing the word to become empty. You can then remove them, if desired. You could also enter a special marker text in the replace field and remove all those lines in a second pass, while replacing with regular expressions turned off. You could simply achieve this by selecting the first line with the special marker completely. Go to the start of the first line containing it. Hold the SHIFT button down and press the CursorDown key. Then press CTRL+H to replace occurrences of this line by an empty replace field. Does this work? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Open both files in Notepad++ like you want. Save the session via the File menu. Add the name of the .session file to the N++ shortcut, instead of both filenames. If you do it correctly, this should work. You can test this behavior by setting the option to automatically save the session (opened files) when N++ is closed. When you restart N++, this should result in what you want. Then close N++ again and copy or rename the session.xml file to newname.session. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
