Due to the serious blue screen crash problem in GUP, which comes with
Notepad++,
the v4.8 is removed from sourceforge.
The fixed version (v4.8.1) is planned to be released in 3 days.

Can Background color of "Brace highlight style" be an option in 4.8?
I use Notepad++ for PHP. In the previous version of Notepad++, the Background
color of Brace highlight is not shown. But the 4.8 version, it shows will a
white background.

I have more info, it's definitely a bug and happens after just lunching with
a new empty tab/buffer, then the horizontal scrollbar is visible, if you then
create a new empty tab the scrollbar disappears on both tabs

I think Explorer.dll should also be removed from the package. Every time I
include
it in the plugin folder, it continuously leaks handles. And I'm not even
browsing
anything with it. Right now, it's at 1200 handles, and Notepad++ was open for
couple of hours only.

the .md5 file - there is no .zip or .exe file posted.

Same problem in NPP 4.8 only.
When I copy Russian text from other application the text is displayed
correctly.
When I type Russian text in NPP I get rubbish: I type "???? ???? ????"
and see "0<0 <K;0 @0<C" in NPP. Currently I'm in Dos/Windows format, UTF-8.
However, there is the same problem in all other formats/encodings.
P.S. The same problem with Hebrew text.

Can you describe it in more detail? What do you mean with "it continuously leaks
handles"? Did you tried 1.7.2?

If I can give you a little contribute, I found that the explorer.dll coming
with NPP package release (npp.4.8.bin.zip) is different from that one I
downloaded
some days ago from the download page (should be the same version 1.7.2).
And on my PC I don't have any problem ( I didn't try with the explorer.dll of
the package because I don't like "blue screen" ...)

Oh yes, that's perhaps necessary, sloppy bugfixing is in NPP always a special
matter. At first they remove a view of the old ones, and than they produce a
bunch of new bugs to make NPP a bit more interesting for the plugin programmers.
That's a really good method to keep them busy!
