An alternate way to associate Notepad++ with editing html files without the
need to edit the registry:
1. In an explorer window, select tools-> folder options, "File Types" tab.
2. Select your file type (Firefox document for me, batch file for you) and
hit the Advanced button.
3. Create a "New" action, call it "edit", and give it an action of '"C:\Program
Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" "%1"'
4. Make sure "Open" is the default!
Yeah, NPP needs to do this on its own :-p

Thank you for looking into this. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that this
was not the case for me. In my case, everything worked fine for more than a
year, then one day out of the blue, with no configuration changes (or other
changes that I can think of), the error happened. Is there anything else I
should check?

When I used Alt-(Mouse Select), it selects by block. However when I scroll
the mouse down, it seems like the maximum length that I can select is based
on the maximum length of the current line. So if I have a line of 50 chars
followed by a line of 20 chars, I can only select a block of up to 20 chars
wide even for the line of 50 chars. Could someone suggest if I am not doing
the right thing? Many thanks.

Look for the
ChooseColor
function. Doesnt seem to describe any changes for Vista, are you sure it isnt
a font problem and the controls are too small to display all 3 numbers?
Select the white color and see what values you get

You should set the browser forward/backward buttons on your mouse, they should
work if they work in your browser aswell :)
