Notepad++ will store everything in the program folder if doLocolConf.xml file
is present, it will store settings in %APPDATA% otherwise

Try this version of nppcm.dll:
http://harrysnppstuff.webs.com/NPPFiles/nppcm.dll
It displays which error exactly occurs. Usually you cant jsut copy it over,
you have to kill the explorer.exe task in the taskmanager, start cmd and
overwrite
the file, then restart explorer.exe.
Or, if you know how, unregister the extension, restart explorer, copy the new
extension over and register it.

I have had notepad++ since v. 4.7 and have found the hexediter useful sometimes,
but after installing 4.8.2 over 4.8.1 it seems to have gone from the toolbar
and i cannot find it the menu's. until this is "fixed" i will me using 4.8.1
how it will come back or maybe i just overlooked it??!!

Are you using a 64 bit OS?
Edit with Notepad++ is a shell extension that gets loaded as a DLL, Open with
Notepad++ sounds like something custom you madewith the registry or fiel type
editor in windows, that usually always works, but it misses that great Notepad++
icon :)

Is there any way to customise the Favorites sidebar? I would love to add extra
sub-folders, to categorise all my favourites. I've search but haven't found
anything, and editing the .DAT didn't work.
