There are a lot of messages about this on the forums, in this case considering inserting some text at the beginning of each line. Find field: ^(.) Replace field: putthefilenamehere\1 Using regex (check it) this will look for any line starting with any character, and replace it by putthefilenamehere followed by the character itself. \1 refers to the first () group in the find field. Notice that this method will NOT work for EMPTY lines. Using the advanced Find\Replace dialog (CTRL+R) you can also enter linebreaks in normal mode (uncheck regex). In the Find field: Press CTRL+M (or SHIFT+Enter or CTRL+Enter, they're all the same): this enters a linebreak. In the Replace field: Enter a linebreak (CTRL+M...), and put the filename on the new line. Replace all occurrences starting from the top (or using wrap mode). Notice that this method does NOT work for the FIRST line. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It probably has a straightforward function to insert text at the beginning of each line. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I tried creaeting a macro to reload and auto confirm but it just crashes npp. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. You can select the lines to work on in advance. Press CTRL+F or CTRL+R. Check if the Selection checkbox is checked then. Find field: .$ Replace field: \1, Regular expression: checked. Notice that this will NOT work for EMPTY lines, because in regex mode a real selection has to be made in order to replace it. In normal mode you can use CTRL+R advanced Find/Replace dialog to enter linebreaks by CTRL+M, SHIFT+Enter or CTRL+Enter. You can simply search for them and replace them the same way. Find field: Insert the linebreak (CTRL+M or SHIFT+Enter or CTRL+Enter) Replace field: ,CTRL+M (append a linebreak to the comma) Replace all occurrences. Notice that this method may not work for the last line of your file, as it may not have a linebreak. (Why do we call these things "End-of-line"? If it's not there, the line still ends...) ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Find field: (.)$ This way the \1 will contain and put back the found character, instead of nothing. This avoids _replacing_ the last character by a comma, instead of appending that. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. You can even use both at the same time by renaming either one of them and leaving it in the plugins folder. You can also use the Highlight Plug-In: www.andre-simon.de ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
