Bye bye, and i'll never use it again unless the author apologises to all
Chinese,
though i used to like it very much.

What's pity, some people living in western counties enjoy connecting everything
with politics, even a software!

I'm living China, i know what's the truth. It's foolish to say 'boycott' before
knowing the real truth.

So foolish!

If you agree that New york not belong to America, London not belong to Great
Britain, Paris no belong to France, Berlin belong to German, your arms not
belong
to you.....

Then come to say this !!!

I guess not. Why would you want the filedate not to be changed?

If you want all files to have the _same_ timestamp, you can use a utility to
set those (back) all at once.

Thank you for your reaction, the reason is the the files are Iomega backup files
which I can't get back with the Iomega program. I have to edit them and rename
them but in order to keep them as original backup I need the original date/time.
This to be able to distinguish them form more recent files with the same name.
thank you
AtK

And there's more...

When a column selection copied in block select mode is pasted at the end of
a line, the layout gets messed up. The first line is pasted OK, the second line
is pasted _after_ the linebreak (CR+LF), which also results in an unwanted
indentation. Also, the third line is appended to that indented pasted text
because
of missing the linebreak behind it (it is before the pasted text).

One more annoying thing: I am familiar with spaces being added to the line
_following_ the pasted block, if that line was shorter than the now extended
lines preceding it. However, with the block pasted as above, it now is the
_second_
line after the pasted block, instead of the line directly following it, that
gets the spaces. I guess this is also due to the incorrect linebreak handling
and pasting after each CR and LF character pair.

What has changed in column selection and paste mode?
Will this be corrected?
Could it be improved, so also no more spaces will be added to a line that has
nothing to do with the pasted block?

Perhaps you can store the current timestamp by writing them to a file.

Changing _a lot of_ files is something I wouldn't use Notepad++ for, but some
other utility specifically designed for that job. Perhaps TextCrawler can do
this.

Afterwards, you could create a batch file that sets all the timestamps back.
You could use the directory information and some regular expression to extract
and create a command to set back the timestamp for each file.

I guess you should verify if this still and consistently happens.

Perhaps the best thing to do is open the file to copy the lines from and then
remove all those lines that you don't want to copy. You can save the file with
another name or simply copy all lines by pressing CTRL+A and CTRL+C. Then you
should be able to paste all these lines in your other file by pressing CTRL+V.

Alternatively, you can copy the other files' contents to the newly created file
with the lines you originally wanted to copy, if the other file contains (much)
less lines. Don't forget to save the edited file using the name of the other
file.
