I just really started using Notepad++ on a daily bases and I was hoping that I had just missed a setting that could accomplish this task. The work around adds more overhead for me so I guess I'll just have to remember to turn read only on for each file after I open it. Perhaps this might be a good feature to add in some future release. Thanks again. Dan. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It has a lot of extra tabs in the middle of paragraphs that make the code hard to read. Is there a shortcut to remove tabls from selected text. FYI, these tabs are not at the beginning or end of the text, but most of the time, right in the middle. Thanks! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Why belong to a forum when its members are more interested in responding to a double post than helping out a beginner who wasn't too sure how this posting stuff worked anyway. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. One of the tasks I need to perform is to modify the time/date stamps to something a little more international. I start out with this: 03/13/08 05:26:22 UTC Anthony Username and change it to: Mar 13, 2008 05:26 UTC etc... I need to do this on several documents a day and hundreds of times per document. I can perform these changes with Regex, and use wildcards without problem. What I was hoping for, was a way to place this into a macro or script to make it a little easier on myself. I checked out simplescript but it does not seem to handle wildcards. Am I wrong and I missed it or is there something else I can use? Any help is appreciated. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Press CTRL+H. Press the TAB key. Enter just a space character in the Replace field. Press Replace all. All tabs will be replaced by single space characters, which will shorten the lines. You could also try the following. Select one TAB character. Press CTRL+H. Press CursorRight key or End to move the cursor behind the selected TAB character in the Find field. Press + to add this + behind the TAB character. Press the TAB key to enter the Replace field. Press the space bar to enter a single space character. Check the regular expression option checkbox. Replace all. This will replace all strings of consecutive tab characters by a single space character, which may give better results than the previous method. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. What language _does_ your .inc file open in? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Simple Scripts doesn't handle wildcards or regex, but I assume you could create your own conversion by simple putting all the obvious code there. Replace 01/ by Jan_ Replace 02/ by Feb_ Replace 03/ by Mar_ etc. Replace the text between the remaining / and the space character by _20 + that text. I guess this is somehow possible. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Firstly putting an '_' under a character in a menu is the offical means of signifying a hotkey sequence where ALT+<char> pops up the menu. The Search menu has an '_' under the 'S' of Search, so that should be the default action (unless the user purposefully mucks with the accelerator table). Secondly ALT+S is the standard 'Search' menu accelerator sequence for almost every other editor (with the exception of ALT+F for 'Find'). This change in 4.8.2 has increased my teams WTF/s ratio enormously (What the fucks per second). ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Language___ : Pascal (select this in the left list) This will show: Default ext : pas inc User ext___ : You can add user extensions in the empty box. However, you can't remove default extensions. This is a shortcoming, because apparently user extensions do not override the default extensions. You have to remove the .inc Pascal extension manually from the stylers.xml file in the Notepad++ installation directory or possibly the user's %APPDATA% directory. This has been an issue before. "from ultraedit to notepad++" http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1964744&forum_id=331754 A nice improvement would be to either - have only one list of language extensions, which can have default values, but with the option to also remove them, or - make user extensions override default extensions ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
