There seem to be some fundamental problems in this discussion of Tibet.
Mainland
Chinese are not taught how to debate, they can only argue. And they are taught
that whatever the Chinese government's opinion is, is the only truth. They
are unable to listen to any other viewpoint, because any other viewpoint is
unacceptable to the government. So, they learn that any other viewpoint is
a "Lie". Now, if somebody presents them with a Tibetan viewpoint, such as is
easily found in the west, then they argue abusively, or shout that you are being
hateful towards them.

Thus, for example, the Chinese government is able to say that the Dalai Lama
is plotting against China, and not present any supporting evidence (as they
have none to present), and the Chinese people accept that that is the only
reason
that Tibetans have suddenly got very angry. They do not believe the stories
about abuses of human rights under Chinese rule, because they have heard only
Chinese government exaggerated stories about "slavery in pre-communist Tibet".

They have been told, repeatedly, that Tibet has always been part of China, and
so they have no option but to believe it. The Tibetan viewpoint that Tibet
was never Chinese, but was only, from time to time, an unwilling part of the
Chinese Empire, makes no sense to them. To tell them that the Tibetans prior
to 1950 were proud of their independence also makes no sense to them, as they
are told that Tibetans welcomed the Chinese invasion. (An outright lie!)

It does not occur to Chinese people that other imperialist nations have now
let their empires go, but only Imperialist China is still holding on to its
empire.

It has been said that if you repeat a lie often enough, it will be accepted
as truth. The Chinese government knows this, and so now it has a billion people
believing its lies about Tibet to be "Truth". Thus, you have Chinese
contributors
to this forum, and elsewhere, telling us that we do not know the truth about
Tibet, only because we do not accept the Chinese government version of
the situation.

I agree with this criticism. The tab titles are unreadable unless I put my
eyes right up to within 10cm of the screen. It would be very helpful to be
able to vary the contrast, or the colour scheme, used here.

The anti-Tibetans never give facts to support their continued oppression of
Tibet, they only repeat Chinese government opinions, and call them "facts".

They call pro-Tibetans "brainwashed by the western media", not realising the
extent to which they themselves have been brainwashed by their own self-serving
and lying government, which prohibits the publication of any information that
casts themselves in a bad light. They do not seem to realise that if anybody
can produce actual Facts, with real evidence, to support their anti-Tibetan
assertions, somebody in the western media will cheerfully publish them. On
the other hand, anything that supports the pro-Tibetan argument will be banned
in China, so that Chinese people are misled into thinking that they have the
truth.

Guys, if you really have a lot of time to kill get the reading list for Tibet
Study from http://members.tripod.com/journeyeast/tibet.html. There are many
unbiased articles on Tibet.

I hate to post political materials on a technical site, but the banner for
boycotting
the games made me sick.

He wrote notepad++ and he thought he was god.

If you read this book you will find that under age girls (as young as 8 years
old) were used to boost monks from one level enlightenment to another. It's
not a good religion, it's a sect which is even worse than the polygamist sect
in Texas.

I've got a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition (with SP2).

Inside this server, there's no "Edit with Notepad++" context menu item when
right-clicking on any file in windows explorer.

I'm pretty sure it's a problem with being in a 64 bit O/S since I've got a lot
of servers and this is the only 64 bit and it's the only one which has got this
problem.

I've a little idea of the cause of the problem:
Notepad++ is installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)" folder instead of simple
"Program Files".

I hate to discuss politics too, but since Dan Ho started it ....

Personally, I haven't heard about under-age girls being used (which doesn't
mean it's not true). I have, however, heard from others and elders that a bride
has to be fucked by a monk before the marriage -- this is supposed to be
a blessing!!?

Dan Ho is Taiwanese, so I think his hatred towards communist China/party clouded
his judgment ... too sad.

He could probably ask his family, friends or even some history experts in Taiwan
to verify what I've just written.
