Here is yet another way to simply save and use your original numbers, whether
they are consecutive or not.

1. Prefix numbers with an excessive amount of zeroes by using the Column
Editor.
2. Remove unwanted zeroes usin the Regex mode of the replace dialog.

1. Prefix numbers with an excessive amount of zeroes by using the Column
Editor.

Use the block selection mode to select a 0-character width column after the
. of docu.
Move the cursor after the . on the first or last docu. line, hold down the SHIFT
key and move down or up to the line before the last or first. Now also hold
the ALT key and move to the last or first line.

Press ALT+C to open the Column Editor dialog.
Select "Number to insert".
Enter any number with an excessive amount of zeroes: 10000.
Enter as increment the number 0.
The "Leading zeros" checkbox now doesn't matter.
Press OK.

All numbers will now be prefixed by the desired number of zeroes, but also
contain
an unwanted prefix of 1 followed by a varying numbers of zeroes. We will remove
this prefix in the next step.

2. Remove unwanted zeroes using the Regex mode of the replace dialog.

This uses regular expression mode in either (CTRL+H or CTRL+R) Find/Replace
dialog.
Check the regular expression checkbox and uncheck any other undesired option
(Selection, wrap). Move the cursor before the first docu.100.... occurrence
you want to replace.

In the Find field, enter:
docu.10*(\d\d\d\d),

Use as many \d tokens as the desired or needed number of digits.

In the Replace field, enter:
docu.\1,

(Find the first and) replace all occurrences.

This will search and find all occurrences, but telling the replace engine to
keep only the last "\d" number of digits. The prefix of 1 and any (remaining)
number of zeroes won't be placed back, so in effect will be removed.

0* means: any consecutive string of 0's with a minimum of zero (none)

Mmm, that's kind of funny... Didn't think of that before...

> 2. Removing and inserting consecutive numbers.

Of course, this method requires the numbers to be already sorted, which is just
what you wanted to get done...

But you know now you can prefix the numbers to prevent the sort function to
mess with the "logical" order.

Oooooohhh.....

Look at our Western propaganda now.....

Q) Whatever happens in China/Tibet ?

A) The same thing as what happens in American prisons all over the world.
   You really don't wanna know what America does to people, even if they don't
have any evidence against the people they torture way more brutally than you
could ever get in your scariest nightmares.

Sorry on 2008-03-27 11:36 I wrote "stable", of course (as clear in the context)
I meant "RELIABLE", as I had written in my initial post; thx to the ones who
did understand.

Other examples of unreliability (that BTW are few and small for such a powerful
program with such small development resources):

- when you have a dozen files open in N++, <Ctrl>S will save the one that has
the focus... excepted that, in some circumstances that I didn't clearly
identified,
your file does NOT get updated in its original place, while N++ issues no
message
at all, so you RELY on N++ for having saved your file; I can't find if N++ did
save something, and what, and where. Such uncertainty is of course a big blow
to actual reliability: you can't RELY on it.
- when you click the "-" sign at left of a <DIV> tag, then cut or drag or copy
the line, this most often does take exactly the whole DIV (which can be 200-line
long); but sometimes, due to the </DIV> closing tag being in the middle of a
line, the cut is NOT *exactly* what you expect, which can have devastating
effects
if you confidently RELY on it. Again, an annoying blow to RELIABILITY.

Given the dates I reported (and while waiting for a more significant criterion),
and the 2 kind reports above ("Nobody 2008-03-27 19:52" and "LMS_RampagE
2008-03-27
21:12", with my warm thanks to both), I think v4.6 can be kept so far for the
most reliable version today.

Of course, as clear for anyone who actually read the thread (my apologies for
recalling the obvious...), this is for the circumstances I stated ("no need
for very advanced features, but paramount need for reliable operation"); of
course heavy N++ users know better and will usually prefer the most recent
release,
or even a beta.

Hmm, it's a critical bug then.
Please let me know when you have the instructions to reproduce it, I'll fix it.

Hi Don.

On grounds of popular request I want to extend my plugin so that people can
add breakpoints by clicking on the margin. This is however already in use by
the bookmark toggle. I decided to use a modifier (CTRL). Sadly the bookmark
toggle does not check for modifiers, so even if I hold down CTRL, ALT, SHIFT
in any combination, the bookmark still gets added. I was wondering if it were
possible to add a line of code, so that bookmarks were toggled only in case
where no modifiers were held down.

if (notification->modifiers == 0)

        case SCN_MARGINCLICK:
...
        else if (notification->margin == ScintillaEditView::_SC_MARGE_SYBOLE
&& !notification->modifiers)
        {

            int lineClick = int(_pEditView->execute(SCI_LINEFROMPOSITION,
notification->position));
                        if (!showLines(lineClick))
                                bookmarkToggle(lineClick);

        }

This leaves some space for other plugin developers.

Best regards.
