RegEx search of CRLF doesn't work for me. Tried entering both \n\r and \r\n
and searching with the "regular expression" box checked. It replied "Can't Find
the word".

I have 2 servers on which I have installed NP++. Both are running Windows
Server
2003; one in 32 bit mode and one in 64 bits mode. Everything was fine on both
servers until ver 4.8.5. Now, whenever I try to run the program (on either
server), it fails, with the following added to the system's Application Events
log:

"Faulting application notepad++.exe, version 4.8.5.0, faulting module unknown,
version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00020196."

It worked fine up until the latest release, so a recent change has broken
something.
If it failed on only one server I would suspect a server config issue. That
is waht I suspected when it (4.8.5) failed to work on the one server, until
the next time I used it on the other server it said there was an update, which
I allowed it to install; and it stopped working.

I guess you can do this manually, by copying them into a document.
You can open that document to again copy them from and paste them into the Find
dialog.
If you have session saving and loading active, you don't even have to load the
document manually!

Yes, Notepad++ also has forum where you can ask questions (as you know and did)
and find answers to them (as you probably not did). Best thing do is start
looking
for answer before asking (as many before you did).

That's because computer actually do what you ask them to do.
Most of the time they are not programmed to _interpret_ your questions.

If you read the message above again, it does tell you that a search for CRLF
in regex mode can't be done.

I had v3.x for a long time... and I recently had to open some huge text files
(~330mb)
and it would partly open it (I would be able to see the text in the editor)
and then a pop up would say something like 'there is not enough storage to
complete
the process'. when I click on that popup, notepad++ would automatically close.
but at least it would exit beautifully and until I click on it, I would be able
to see the text that it had load upto that point.

so, I thought maybe the latest version of notepad++ would perform better.. so
I just installed v4.8.5 and now it just crashes with a windows message (error
code 6100) when I try to open that same text file.

is there any effort being put into notepad++ for viewing large files?
if not, can someone suggest a good editor for huge files?

thanks,
Julian

Well, I think both is correct, although I believe that most native speakers
will prefer the "K" version. (See
http://www.canoo.net/services/Controller?input=Kodierung&service=canooNet) What
are you after? Is there an inconsistent spelling in the language file?

And it also has a nice icon. I look at it every day!

Show me yours, perhaps you are the one who can need a facelift.

Could you just test again by removing the plugins to make sure that it's not
plugins issue?

Don
