I can;t seem to find this feature so i'm requesting it because i find it quick
and easy.
Basically would it be possible to search a word in the current the document
by highlighting a word and pressing F3 which would then find the next occurrence
of the highlighted word. Rather than highlighting a word and then pressing Ctrl
+ F and finding a word like that.

<Quote (Don) - 2008-05-02 02:49>
If you have better RE (conform to Scintilla's one) which can support "ftp://",
"https://" etc, please let me know.
</Quote>
How about adding optional support for additional link detection then?
E.g.:
Clickable link setting:
( ) Enable
( ) Don't underline links
( ) Scan entire document for links
Use additional detection strings:
(Warning: This can noticeably decrease performance of Notepad++)
( ) https://
( ) ftp://
( ) Scan for partial URLs (www(dot)example(dot)com)
Oh, and please could you add the '~' (Tilde) character to the RE string too?
Example: "http://[a-z0-9_\\-\\+.:?&@=/%#~]*"
Thank you for consideration, Don.
______________
Best regards,
deus-ex

I have similar problems...I cannot use the editor to edit the rules after I've
shut down and relaunched NPP.
However, they seem to work, and after a lot of retrying I'm pretty happy with
the way it works!
Thanks!

I updated from 4.8.2 and it shows 4.8.5 (in the about box), so maybe that is
the problem I didnt get 4.9 (unless 4.9 isnt final yet, but there should be
some tag or something letting us know if its considered final or not), its
available
on the download page.
If I really do have 4.9 then the following 2 nodes were not inserted at all
<WidgetStyle name="Smart HighLighting" styleID="29" bgColor="00FF00" />
<WidgetStyle name="Incremental highlight all" styleID="28" bgColor="0080FF" />
They should of been added to the following node:
<GlobalStyles>

Doing "Find in files..." on a large directory locks up Notepad++ for a long
time while it searches for everything. It would be nice if the searching was
done in a separate thread (so that it doesn't lock the UI), and the results
were displayed as they were found (similar to Visual Studio).
Is something like this possible?

Hi, in version 4.9 the Cyrilic characters are not displayed in the result window
after surching string with function: Find in files. After I search the string
the results are displayed, but the cyrilic characters are not visible, They
are in simbols.
