Old thread, I know - just wanted to let you know that this plugin is working
well for me and that it DOES work very well with non-C/C++ files. I've tested
with Tcl and Python and it works great. Thanks!

I'm also seeing problems in 5.x - comment style is wrong, etc.

Actually I just went back as far as 4.3 and I see the same problems - does
anyone
see this? The one problem in particular is that it is using c-style comments
rather than "#" - those are styled as preprocessor.

Will Do. I will recreate the icon set in 16x16 in .ico format. Give me a week
or so. Very busy on projects atm! I do think additional tags would be useful.
Perhaps 20 - 25?

1/ OK, this is an old bug : see
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1589507&group_id=95717&;
atid=612382
In notepad++ source code, tcl color highlighting settings are in the C languages
group. That's the reason why the comments are wrongs...
So, I have recently post 2 comments to solve this problem in order to have in
notepad++ the same settings than in scite.

wait and see.

2/ I have tested my patch under npp 5.01 (because this is the only one I can
compile with MinGW) and it works fine. Here are the syntax elements that can
be customized :

# comment line        :  OK
$ subtitution         :  OK
tcl/tk commands       :  OK
##### comment box     :  OK
-xxx modifiers        :  OK
"xx" in quote         :  OK
number and hex number : OK
...
see the screenshot (under wine)
: http://leohome.free.fr/download/npp/npp-tclsyntax1.png

if you want to test :
1/ download the patched version (5.01.1) here
: http://leohome.free.fr/download/npp/notepad++.zip
NOTE : this version don't use %APPDATA (the configuration files are in the
install
directory)
2/ unzip the downloaded file where you want in your hard drive : all the files
are in notepad++ directory
3/ if you want english localisation, open the explorer, go in the directory
where npp was unziped and remove nativeLang.xml
4/ to start npp, double click on notepad++.exe : enjoy

HTH

Very nice, thanks for the reply! I'm not actively using Tcl at the moment so
I will hope that it gets into an official build, but if not I'll give your patch
a shot.  Thanks again

It seems (from) today I will have to use the new Sourceforge website layout
as well.

I dislike this for the following reasons:

- every link I open is reloaded with /&abmode=1 added to it.

This means my browser history (current history for the Back button as well as
the general history) get filled up with double links. It's really not necessary
to take twice as much space for visiting those pages. Now I can't even use the
Back button anymore, because the very same page (with the clean link) will be
opened, actually re-loading the changed link with the abmode part added to it.
When wanting to open a visited link from the Address Bar I have to scroll twice
the number of entries through the list. Why oh why does SF put me through this?

- the Forum Search functionality seems to have gone.

Why is that? Do we really want only more questions asked again and again because
we can't even perform a simple search for items straightaway?

This also goes for any link opened from the forum itself. They don't have the
abmode part, so these will be added when reloaded from the link without it.
What a f**lsh*t!

Using what browser? I don't see that behavior here in Firefox 3.0 - Back and
Forward work as expected. The Search box is still there on the top right, too.

I was using Internet Explorer 6, but now I check FireFox and get that good old
layout (back), too.

It's a second effect of clickable link feature.
Disable this option (via Preferences dialog->MISC) will remedy this problem.
This bug will be fixed in the next release.

First: How do you do a "lazy" match in a regular expression?

Second: It doesn't seem the "lazy star" is supported. Could support for this
please be added? Here is a description of the lazy star:
