no but the problem was: i was looking at the root of npp at "c:\program
files\...".
In fact the styler.xml is in the application data directory at "Document and
Settings\user\applicaiton data". There, i found a styler.xml which has updated.
I replaced it but anything changed. Why?

because i was stupid before deleting my npp. I was saved the style.xml which
was at the root of npp(the model one), but i had to back up the one at
the application data. The directory to store the config filesis asked when you
install the npp first time.

And i understand now why they named the file at the npp root "styler.model.xml",
it was for preventing the confusion with "styler.xml".

Regarding the tcc command line:
if you want to compile several .c files, you must use '-run' after the file
names e.g.

tcc file1.c file2.c -run

No, that would not be fair.

Notepad++ and its website are not responsible for what other sources write.
If someone puts anything at the Wikipedia website, they should check it for
themselves.

How may other sites are there saying something about Notepad++?
Should Notepad++ check all the statements and claims there?

Should Notepad++'s website say: "Do not believe ... or do not visit this website
at all."?

How would anyone know of this warning if they get to the other site first?

Most important thing: I wouldn't use Wikipedia to find (out) any(thing about)
Text Editors. There are more valuable resources elsewhere. Should we post a
message about that, too, on all website also stating claims about text editors?

Even if you wanted to, how would find them?

The problem is that Wikipedia is not merely the first place people go for
information, it's also often the *only* one. And Wikipedia suffers from the
"community created" vision, because what someone in the community posts isn't
always correct. I use Wikipedia as a resource, but I don't assume it's true
just because it's there. I check other sources as well.

The best source of information of Text Editors I'm aware of is
http://TextEditors.org, another wiki devoted to that specific topic. It's
striving
to list *all* text editors, for *any* platform (with 814 listings thus far).
But it normally doesn't try to provide deep information on any particular
editor:
it provides links to the information so you can find out for yourself.

I thought you can use the built-in api for word completion purposes when you
edit a html file.
if the "needer" wants something else he will come back and tell - in a moderate
manner maybe - what he really wants.

cheers!

One minor nitpick.

Mine is doing fine, however yesterday when it went and found the update, it
installed fine, but places a 2nd shortcut on my desktop.

Other than that, I really like Notepad++ and am glad I got rid of Ultra Edit.

It would be really great if someone will make a plugin which will perform "Find
All References" (in terms of MS Visual Studio) or "Lookup References" (in terms
of Source Insight) function.

Output from either id-utils (http://www.gnu.org/software/idutils/, smthng like
"lid -i -Rgrep -s $(CURRENT_WORD)") or GNU Global
(http://www.gnu.org/software/global/, "global -aisx $(CURRENT_WORD)") can be
used as database for such plugin.

It would be nice to have options similar to CCompletion ones, where I can
specify
the projects, and behavior for created ctags files (i.e. which files are
temporary
and which should be kept).

The output should be similar either "Find in files" N++ built-in function or
"Search in Files" plugin.

Unfortunately my C++ level doesn't allow me to create this plugin by myself.
However, looking at both CCompletion and SearchInFiles, it shouldn't be a hard
job for skilled person.

I'm wondering if there is there a way to create a document template in
Notepad++?
I need the same text to appear at the top of each of my programs.

Thank you.
