Is the current assembler highlighter inadequate for your needs? I would suggest
you try it. If that doesn't work, you could try implementing it using the
custom
language dialog. If that doesn't suit your needs, you will need to go the the
scintilla code and write a new lexer for it (or ask someone there to write one
for you).

airdrik: This would probably be a good discussion to start on the
scintilla-interest
mailing list. The ML is not very active currently, but I would be interested
in providing some additional thoughts on that subject, and I believe other
people
might find it informative as well.

i figured out how to get user defined language by going here:
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/UserLanguageDefineSystem-HOWTO.php

this userDefineLang.xml found in my web directory can be placed in user's
AppData
folder, i.e C:\Documents and Settings\arian121\Application Data\Notepad++ (or
c:/Program Files/Notepad++)
http://www.arianhojat.com/files/drupal/notepad_plus_plus/

AND also the drupal.xml also placed in c:/Program Files/Notepad++/plugins/APIs

and get the styling of the user defined language, and the code
assist/autocomplete
keywords.

i put php keywords in this as well since php/drupal are mixed together, i might
add css and jquery keywords in there too if people like.

still having minor issues, like sorting. i think the xml functions have to be
sorted, like timer_set at the top and timer at the bottom doesnt sort right.
also cant get block commenting to work. i put /* and */ and the open/close tags
for comments.
also need to work on getting default colors to work good. like
$string = 'string';
string should be black and 'string' should be grey. cant target tokens like
that so well unless i am missing something

>It would be great if visitors did just a little research...

It would be even better if you hobbled of your high-horse, if you're bothering
to respond, and actually provide some added value, even if you must chide me
first.

As I didn't see anything regarding this on Google, the online help, the FAQ,
or on the SF forums, I didn't think posting here was out of line. If I missed
it, please provide the link.

In any case, unless the functionality is present but unconventional, it's
missing
- so documented or not, it is a vote/suggestions nonetheless.

i was working on getting Drupal in Notepad++.,
got something decently so far...

Here are the drupal.xml and userDefinedLanguage.xml, and a readme where
to install.
http://www.arianhojat.com/files/drupal

just need some tips to get it the way i want. as it is not there yet :)

i mixed in php from php.xml already there with drupal since devs are going to
want both.

1.
I think the ordering of my xml is bad, pretend i have Array_func, array_merge,
_array_drupal_merge. what order should they be in? i read something about
ignorecase
attribute, but i dont think i want to ignore the case.

2.
also i cant get block comments to work. i use /* and */ to no avail. i am
thinking
maybe cause they are delimters?

3.
anyway so the meta info about params are used? like the return type of a drupal
or php function. didnt seem to work. just the function's name pops up.

4.
antoher problem is a line like for this line of code...
$string = 'string';
$ is an operator and is blue.
string is not an operator so its default color black
= ' is blue since operators.
string is black since default.
'; is blue.

i was wondering if can get it so 'string' is grey (though still keep string
in $string as black) like notepad++ php's styling. wasnt sure if i need to reset
my operators or styling in userDefinedLanguage.xml file

Thanks,
Arian

When left on for a few days, the CPU usage creeps up about 2% per day. It was
as high as 25%.

I've noticed Plugins>Export>RTF & HTML are a little broken. When exporting HTML
to clipboard, and pasting in an email, it jumbles it and removes newlines. When
exporting RTF to clipboard, it looses indentation. The RTF is more readable
than HTML though.

I'd think that the default copy opertation would bind to "copy all formats to
clipboard" (out of the plugin and into the core) - but I appreciate the "light
core" approach as well. Perhaps an "appropos"-style keyword search of bulit-in
and extension methods would be useful to find things.

Anyway, glad it's there - thanks!
