I suggest using a more appropriate control to represent a large list of options:
The Combo box (with CBS_DROPDOWNLIST).

A menu is not the appropriate place to put an ever-growing list of items.

FYI, it doesn't support the '?' operator either.

Why the copy file path/file name/full file path function (from the menu by right
clicking on the file tab) do not copy the last char of the path??

Been using n++ for about 9 months now love the auto-completion.

One feature that maybe wealth considering is to add the ability to highlight
a function eg getElementsByName and the hit say the F1 button or right-click
to display a short description and example stip-bit on the function.

many times i find i have to google the function. most programmers/developers
these days have to have an in-depth knowledge on a wide number of lauguages
and tools eg. ajax, php, sql, xhtml to name a few, just to develop
an application.

I fully agree with faquz, in fact I wanted to post the same comment just now.
Who wants to put his data files in npp.5.0.3.bin? And if they're not there,
why show it as the default?
I think the most sensible thing would be to show the most recently used folder
in the open dialog. And if it doesn't exist I'd go for "My documents" as a
second
choice.

To be honest I find Notepad++'s current behavior in this very annoying.
Greetings,
Steven

The MRU (Most Recent Used) file list in the file menu always seems to contain
the full path, and when it contains a long path the menu gets rather wide, with
quite a distance between the menu item and its shortcut. On one occasion I
measured
804 pixels between "New" and "Ctrl+N".
Can't this be compacted? The Windows API provides the PathCompactPath function
for this.
Regards,
Steven

In the SETTINGS menu EDIT COMPONENTS you can set the TAB SIZE to however many
spaces. Try setting it to one, then highlight the text and hit tab.

Then set it back to 4 or whatever you normally use.

Use ctrl-space to trigger function calltips (thats probably what you mean).
However, itrequires autocomplete files with calltip data, which not all
languages
jave, including javascript. We are still looking and hoping for people with
autocomplete files that have this, or provide a list to generate it from.

This is for those users who have notepad installed in spanish and are going
mad about where the User Defined Language is. The translation developers put
for it in spanish was "Atajos Personalizados" (not very intuitive, I know) and
you can see it in the "Ver" menu.

I would suggest the developers and translators to let this in english, instead
of translate it. It took me ages to find it.
