To remedy that situation, open the task manager and kill all running instances of notepad++. Then open NP++ again, and it should open fine. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. It seems like the answer to this problem must be obvious, but I have searched like crazy through this forum and elsewhere and cannot find an answer that applies: I'm editing both PHP and XML files, pulled either by FileZilla or the internal Notepad++ FTP function. Initially, the files transfer and display legibly, with all line breaks and indentures in place. And many times I can edit, save and reopen without any issues. Other times, however, after some number of edits a file (either PHP or XML) begins to reopen with all the content on a single line. Turning on word wrap simply results in one long illegible line with word wrap. Once the file opens this way it seems to be "stuck" that way. I'm not changing anything about the way I open or save from one file or session to the next. I've tried converting to different formats etc., to no avail. Many thanks to anyone who can help me solve this small mystery of the universe. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. The menu has all kinds of things that sound very interesting to do, like collapsing levels or column sorting, but I can't figure out how to set up my documents to make these features work. Surely with a community this large and active, someone has written more comprehensive documentation. Can anyone please tell me where to find it? Thank you. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. As for the User define system, the closest I can think of is putting < > and / in the list of recognized operators, putting " and ' in the delimeters section, and adding whatever keywords you want to explicitly recognize in the various keyword sections. You won't be able to get as specific highlighting, or the new tag highlighting as when using the xml language itself, though. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I actually tried that but until your message, I did not realize that it wouldn't restore the view of previously saved files (rookie mistake on my part). Unfortunately I had tweaked the code so would hate to revert. Do you have a suggestion for a reasonable easy way to fix a corrupted file? Again, many thanks. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
