In 5.1 AutoIndent is pretty bugged, but in 5.1.1 it should mostly be fixed,
so if you like you can try that, but turning it off works just as well if you
dont need it :)

Don?t know if I got it right, but you could:

1. select some text
2. Start macro recording
3. Control-X (cut the text)
4. Insert "<p>"
5. Control-V (paste the text)
6. Insert "</p>"
7. Stop macro recording

Now select another chunck of text and hit Ctrl-Shift-P and that text will be
wrapped. Voil? !! :-) :-)

This way you?ll have to re-record the macro everytime you change the tags,
but you got the idea ;-)

Cheers.

Hi. I use NP++ as my primary text editor, though mostly php, html, vbscript,
etc. I now need to include some special charactars in a batch file and it isn't
working quite the way I expect it to. I am getting caracters from my alt codes,
tohugh they aren't the ones I would expect. For example alt+205 produces -
instead of =. and alt+201 creates + as opposed to ?. I've been searching
a while with minimal luck in finding a solution. Any ideas?

Thanks.

No, it is not possible to open built-in languages in the User Define Language
dialog. If you are just changing the keywords for the VB language definition,
you can change them in c:\<NP++ program directory>\Langs.xml (and
in plugins\APIs\).

When I update to the new 5.1.1 version, I'll give NppAutoIndent another try.

The problem is that NP++ isn't that intelligent (it's a code editor, not an
IDE), and since the "." is a separate token, when looking up function hints,
it only looks up functions based on the string of valid identifier-name
characters
(most likely a-z, A-Z and _).

If you want "." to be included in the set of identifier-name characters for
lua, rather than being a separate operator, you will need to go to the scintilla
project (or at least into the code for the scintilla editor component).

I believe the problem is because of the spaces. I'm not sure if there is a
way to escape the spaces, or enclose the string.
Perhaps this should be reported as a feature request for a future version of
NP++.

Hallo,

If notepad++ started with cmd option '-nosession', the current session should
not become saved at closing.
Because -nosession was choosed!

Perhaps it could give an option in the preferences/Misc?
For example, an extension to the option 'Remember the current session for next
launch', named 'Only if not launched with option -nosession')

I hope it is comprehensible.

Harry
