The commentLine tag is used by Notepad++ itself to add comments (as in text).
The lexer (Scintilla) colors the text based on the keywords (which it loads
from the list) and some hardcoded strings (like comments).

It does not load the keywords from the list, try removing some of them, they

I am migrating from QEDIT, which had the ability to mark a block and then
confine
search/replace functions within the marked block.

Is there a way to do this in Notepad++?

Do you mean "Focus on other view" in the View menu ? (ID 44072) I have the same
problem. If it happens to both of us, it's probably a bug in the program.
