In Textpad, ALT+DownArrow and ALT+UpArrow would move the cursor to the next/previous block of text separated by one or more blank lines... SHIFT+ALT+DownArrow / Shift+ALT+UpArrow would extend the selection... Does similar functionality exist in Notepad++.. and simply need assigned a "shortcut"? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Are you sorry for doing something _good_?! First of all, you show that you understand how forums can and ought to work: questions that have already been asked and answered, do not need to be asked again. Even if there was no answer to a previously asked question, it makes little sense to start a _new_ thread about it. There are some posters that complain something has been asked, but was never answered, before. If they do so, without even referring to the previous thread, then what is the use? Why create yet another thread about something that may even also not get any answer at all. If you want to make a smart impression, just reply to that very d*mned message you want(ed) to refer to. It will be immediately clear to any reader that the discussion was started before you did (again)... So, you just did a good thing. Here's another thread: "Turn off 'wrap around' in find" (Help forum) http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1751937&forum_id=331754 What I think is important is this: it takes less effort to check the wrap around option when you are warned that searching has stopped, than to after some time realize you keep re-searching the same document over and over again and thinking: oh no, I just spent my time because that d*mned setting isn't turned on by default and checking it then yourself again... each time you have restarted Notepad++... ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. I believe it's assigned to shortcuts CTRL+[/] and SHIFT+CTRL+[/] by default but you can assign it to whatever you want in the shortcut mapper. Hope this helps. I have sent two mails with questions which had no answer, and one like the one yesterday asking for confirmation that my emails make it to the list, with no answer either. Now I see they do, so probably nobody had an answer for my questions. I will try again soon. In either the normal Ctrl+F/R or advanced Ctrl+R find and replace dialog, enter the following expressions: Find field: ^(.*)-([^\-]+)$ Replace field: \2-\1 This will reorder the contents of each line into "Country"-"name". The name itself may even contain - characters: only the last - is seen as separator before the country name. When you have done this, you could sort all lines alphabetically: the information will be grouped by country. Then you could manually split the list(s) into documents per country. You can remove the country name and - character by using column block selection. Select all lines and move the cursor to the - character on the first or last line. Keep the Shift button down while also pressing Alt and Cursor Right. Press Delete to remove the select column, leaving only the names. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
