I'm using N++ 5.3 Unicode, and have had the same issue with all previous
versions
that I can remember.

1/ In the C highighter, OPERATOR style has a green background.
2/ Just for testing, the Global Style -> Brace highlighting style has a yellow
background.
3/ The current line uses a light blue background.

1/ shows in an edited C file outside the current line.
2/ doesn't show at all
3/ colors all the background on the current line.

Note that foreground colours on the current line are preserved; only the
background
attributes are cobberd.

CChris

Crash report...

Open npp and press ctrl-alt-shift-h to run hex editor. Press ctrl-f to open
find. There is always some junk in the find field already. (I see "00 02 7a
01 80 02 7a 01".) Press ctrl-c to copy it. Press ESC to quit find. Press ctrl-v
twice to paste into the editor. The 2nd paste will crash. Now that you have
that data in the clipboard, you can just start npp, run the hex editor, and
paste twice immediately to crash it again.

settings
in prefs colors the whole line. I want no highlighting at all!

Still no syntax highlight for ASPX files. I know it is the same syntax like
ASP and can be enabled from main menu Language->ASP but please add it in file
association list in next release of Notepad++.

..tibility.

As usual, either Unicode build for Function List v1.2 are assessed as ANSI.
As usual, renaming solves this, and the plugin works.

HexEditor 0.9.2 was reported as not compatible, which is something new since
v5.1.2. Renaming also worked, and HexEditor works properly, except for the
various
glitches reported in a recent thread.

Compare was also deemed as not compatible. I let it be deleted, downloaded it
from SF, and it works properly (not tested thoroughly).

CChris

Hi

I recently upgraded to v5.3 and I noticed that the Notepad++.exe process remains
active after I close the app? It also did this in v5.2 but now at least the
latest Notepad++.exe shows a GUI.

I have also seen other people are having this problem.

Also there's a bug with the filenames being shown in the title bar. It sometimes
just shows ONLY the first character?

Please help fix the bugs!!

I have played around with this and I am of the same opinion as thrashbarg. When
you associate a file extension with Notepad++ as a session, it takes away the
ability to view the session file in its text/xml format w/o changing the
filename.
If there were a command-line argument to specify a file as a session, it would
make it so the session file could keep its ".xml" extension, but be treated
in two different ways by Notepad++.

1. TextFX v0.25
2. NppExec v0.3 RC1
3. Spell Checker v1.3.1
4. MIME Tools v1.5
5. FTP_synchronize v0.9.6
6. NppExport v0.2.8
7. Light Explorer v1.5
8. Doc Monitor v2.2
9. NppNetNote v0.1

The .zip package contains a Spell Checker .dll dated 20-12-2007. I have one
from 17-11-2008. I don't recall if this is a beta version or why or when I
downloaded
it.

Is your ANSI folder up-to-date?

Turns out Spell Checker v1.3.1 is the ANSI version as opposed to the Spell
Checker
v1.3.2 version in the Unicode release I had just installed.

It would have been immediately clear to me, if you had added the A suffix to
the name or description of the plugin.

I'm having a hard time checking the latest ANSI versions of plugins as they
seem to have vanished from the download page since Unicode versions have been
released.

Is there something that can be done about that?

Hi John,

Npp v5.3 is still in beta testing. I mention this because by saying you
'upgraded
to v5.3' other people may get the wrong impression.

I'm sure Don will be glad of the feedback.
