This language is C, if you rename the file to (*. c) all is well

Please for the next version of the editor to correct this problem.

(*. inc) is also used in the programming of microcontrollers

Dave,

I was just thinking that your keyboard switching combined with the existing
switching would allow the ctrl-tab/ctrl-shift-tab to open the file switching
dialog, continual ctrl-tab/ctrl-shift-tab would cause the normal behavior of
cycling through the entries, and if someone started typing the file name it
would filter ( like it does ).

I like the plugin, yet after using so many apps that use ctrl-tab/ctrl-shift-tab
I keep finding myself using that shortcut then remembering that I now have
_another_
shortcut that will allow me to get where I want to go even faster, yet since
my fingers are already ctrl-tabbing I just stay there and continue to cycle
through.

Say I have twenty open files, and I need to switch from appserv01-operlog to
webserv01-syslog; using a session I know the files will always open in a known
order, and the built-in quick switch keeps the files in tab order, so if I'm
close to the tab I won't need many ctrl-tabs to move, yet if I'm quite a ways
away I may need 19 ctrl-tabs. I don't really know until I start ctrl-tabbing
though; if your plugin had the same functionality as the built-in switcher
except
with the addition of being able to start typing a file name, then as soon as
it was realized how far the tab was, typing of 'w' would immediately drop me
down to the just a few choices... Granted, hitting the file switcher shortcut
isn't hard at all, but not having to hit it would be better. :P

>> Ummmm, Yeah you can do this stuff in other ways.
>> You could for example, just edit each line by hand.
>> That is not the point.

>Please explain to me how this is to be considered "constructive criticism".

Sure. That part was actually constructive criticism directed to you intended
to lead you to read more carefully. The *original post* was not a request for
help or a work-around and the poster obviously had already come up with ways
to get around the limitation. It was a request/suggestion for alternative
functionality.

Directions for how to do something are appropriate in such a thread when the
exact functionality (or extremely similar) exists already without complex
multi-step
procedures.

>I don't see the use in yet another thread about things that have been requested
long before.

The value is that the developers see it remains important to the users. I
didn't
see a sticky thread that said "coming soon" to say the topic had already been
addressed.

>Poster reports a problem. I report a work-around.

>Thanks for pointing out this has no use!

It does have use. Quite a bit of use, if the poster was asking for a
work-around
or help, not requesting something work better (in his view - and mine).

If you've been offended by my post, feel free to ignore me in the future.
Insults
& flaming is never my intent. If something can be taken several ways and one
of them offends you, you can be certain that wasn't the way it was intended.

Believe me, if insult and offense were my intent - there would be no way to
mistake it for anything else. But you'll never see it because it isn't in my
nature.

This however, is no longer a useful contribution to the forum and you won't
be hearing from me again unless it's back on-topic of how to improve N++ to
the point it's the only editor anybody would ever want to use.

Recently I have found that notepad++ is not able to read large text files...
I have several files with more than 400 Mb that even notepad can read...

If a restriction existed why is not documented ?

Would be possible to add the possibility of reading such big files ?

Thanks in advance

I'm glad you like the plugin. Personally, I don't use it, I prefer the QuickText
plugin. But if someone would send me a sample WebEdit.ini and/or a set of
bitmaps,
I would include them in the distribution. Contributions are welcome!

The main reason I liked the WebEdit immediately is because of the toolbar icon
capability.

The problem I encountered with QuickText is, it doesn't work really work well
with user defined languages and Notepad++ UNICODE versions, but WebEdit does.
I mainly need it for the HTML Tags.

By chance do you know what is the icon bitmap's specifics i.e. size WxH and
such.

Thanks again,
Ash

Read carefully, yeah, you!

The original poster is not stating a request at all.

He is only expressing a wish.

He is saying he can not do something in the way he expects it to work.

I just tell him:
- you can do this in Notepad++
- how he can do this in Notepad++

So, problem solved, for the time being.

Poster does not have to sit back and wait until someone else makes the app to
work his way.

Why not reply to a similar thread instead of creating a new one? It would be
obvious from the revived thread that the "problem" or request already existed.

1428: Cannot set nonlocal hook without a module handle. ERROR_HOOK_NEEDS_HMOD

If you feel like debugging it (I don't have time at the moment)... Without
looking
at the code, I'd say that Npp wants to set a local hook with SetWindowsHookEx,
and gives NULL for the module handle (as it should). However, the first argument
(dwThreadId) in that case should be set to a local thread ID (probably
GetCurrentThreadId()), but it gets screwed in the process (probably NULL
somehow).

I used macromedia dreamweaver for about 2 years, the best utility it have is
file search

for example

for .php files

i need to search something like:

$variable['anythink']="a";

but in code i have:
$variable['anythink']     ="a";
$variable['anythink']="a";
$variable['anythink'] <tab> ="a";

macromedia could search in files, excluding multiple spaces, and tab
could we put this option on notepad++ file search?
could we find, and replace?

thanks
