if i go to
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

and click Screenshots

those are not available if i am using Chrome. I am not sure if it is due to
using <a href=... >  </A>

where the closing <a> tag is capitalized, causing Chrome to not recognize
it.

If I choose the third radio button and click the browse button and locate
%MyDocument%, it works as anticipated.

I was looking for something completely unrelated in scintilla.iface, and found
something about the foreground highlighting clobbering style background rather
than blending with it.

In Shortcuts.xml, I added the following, right after the definition for Trim
Trailing and save macro:

        <Macro name="test" Ctrl="yes" Alt="yes" Shift="no" Key="45">
            <Action type="0" message="2470" wParam="64" lParam="0" sParam="" />
        </Macro>

Here:
* 45 is the code for the INS key, this can be changed at will using the Shortcut
manager;
* 64 means the color of the current line background is 64/256 times the current
line highlight color + (256-64)/256 times the style background color at each
character.
* 2470 is the number of the SCI_SETCARETLINEBACKALPHA message. It is not listed
in the shortcut mapper.

I found this to be much better visually. Of course you can always play around
with various values for transparency.

The only inconvenience is that you have to execute the macro at startup. It
could be nice to execute macros on any file open/file save. And you need one
macro for each desired level of blending.

(btw I'm still looking for where the recognised values for the type attribute
in saved shortcuts are documented)

CChris

I'm using 5.3.1 and the compare plugin works. There are some compatibility
issues
when upgrading; try downloading this plugin again and reinstalling it, it should
work.

Recover the dll and copy it back into the plugin folder.

Next time, when installer reports the plugin is incompatible, just rename the
dll, proceed and rename it back when installer is done.

In either case, when restarting N++, the plugin works just fine.

I have already reported this sort of issues with a couple plugins, with no
feedback
that I'm aware of. I don't know if the problem is in the plugin not complying
with some expectation of N++, or in the N++ installer proper.

CChris

In textpad I used to highlight and copy a string which includes several CR and
LF, paste it in the search box and replaced it by a different string.

In notepad++ it won't let me do it. Highlighting such a string (including some
CR and LF over at least 2 lines) and then opening the '...Replace' dialog, only
automatically shows about 50% of that string in the 'Find what' field. It won't
even let me copy and paste the full string in that field.

Any way to find and replace such complex strings?

Many thanks!

hmmm, did not get any mail notification on your last post, so sorry for the
late answer.

Well, I cant even remember what exactly I did, but I formatted the txt file
in a nice way with NP++
And then i just scripted my way out of the problems with VbScript on an .asp
page.

I started reading a bit about Reg exp. but I soon realized that it would be
just as easy to use VbScript.
The Data is in all kind of different ways down the txt file, with no specific
delimiter telling me where it belongs...... so I had to go complex.
Ended up with 884 lines of code, but that's including all the DB importing

Don't you just love an un delimited txt file :0)
