FYI Opera knows this right click+scrolling thing as well (even with thumbnails).

Hi all,

I've just purchased a Logitech MX1100 mouse and have found that the side scroll
doesn't work with Notepad++.

When I use the horizontal scroll buttons the scroll bar turns from its XP style
to a Win2k/9X style (gray) and moves in the right direction but the text window
does not update to the new scroll position.

The side scroll does work on other applications and other mice does work with
Notepad++, so it seems to be a problem with the mouse driver and Notepad++.

Does anyone know of a fix or workaround for this before I post a bug report?

Thank you for your help,

Chris

Notepad++ v5.3.1
Logitech Setpoint v4.72.40

Hi,

Is there any way such that when i do search in files for a keyword, any previous
searches history gets deleted and i only gets the current keyword searches.

Everytime i have to right click on search window to clear all the previous
searches.

In earlier version there was no search history feature, so it wasn't an issue.

I hope there will be some preferance setting where user can set whether he wants
search history or not.

Thanks
Neeraj

thanks...

 but, "http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=Creating_a_custom_lexer_for_Co
de::Blocks_editor" says that, "support for code-folding can't be done from the
lexer files. It must be done right in the Scintilla code.". guess its pretty
much beyond of my reach.

i have figured a workaround. since anything that follows two or more than two
asterixes is a comment line, i simply defined **( and **) as the folding start
and endings. not elegant but atleast i can manually fold the code!

cheers

>From the Notepad++ home page (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm):

"... Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When
using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption,
resulting in a greener environment."

I sincerely hope that that's a joke. Who writes this kind of nonsense, anyway?
What difference does it make for a computer program that is most likely only
used periodically for short intervals? Why would anyone even WANT to reduce
carbon dioxide emissions? We humans all exhale it as a waste product, but to
green plants it's a nutrient, the very plants that produce our food, making
them grow better. To make the world greener, we actually need to INCREASE our
output of carbon dioxide. It looks like someone was asleep in biology class.

That smells like an NppPlugin_InsertDate; config dialog to create a custom date
string; save entry; delete entry; refresh menu ( which would add the string
as a command item to the plugins sub-menu in the Plugins menu; then create a
short-cut to it.

Hell, you could even custom format the inserted dates regardless of the language
style being used.

Good points CChris,

1/ The download policies of the org for which I work block pages related to
"Personal Network File Shares", so that it is a bit clumsy to install the plugin
here.

Method of access to the plugin will be changing soon. :D

2/ More seriously, your plugin autobookmarks changed lines. So, when you do
a search and wish to come back later to some match, you have to change the line
(like adding a space at the end) so that it gets inserted in the autobookmark
history

First, it doesn't auto-bookmark anything; bookmarks don't track as accurately
( see Scintilla group posting for the bug info ).

Second; if you are wanting to move through the document after doing a search
either using the mark option of the search or ( as I prefer ) find all in
current
document as use the jumping provided by the new view. That was something I
wanted to do with the Change Marker plugin as well, but never got around to it.

As a side note, I was using this single line of the OP:

'One feature i am really missing is the well known "back" and "forward" buttons
to jump to the previosly located place in the code.'

I thought it obvious that the OP was not referring to the previous position
the cursor was at, but rather the previous position an edit took place. No
doubt, I could be wrong on that assumption. If not though, then that is what
the change marker plugin will do ( albeit for unsaved changes only )

almostautomated
