Hello Jurko,

I noticed your post in the mailing-list and wanted to let you know that it is
doubtful Don would ever see them; the mailing list is pretty much a one way
comm. From the forums, to the mailing list; more of an announcement list than
anything else. To ensure that your posts are seen please post them to the
forums.

Also, there is now a new ideaTorrent setup for the Notepad++ project where
users can post their ideas, and others can vote for them. The goal is to have
an area where, instead of multiple threads with ideas thrown in here and there,
a place will exist that the dev team, plugin writers, new developers, and users
can see what is wanted by the most people.

In regards to the chrome style tabs:

* It would be nice if the original file did not get closed in case opening it
in a different view failed after the drag-and-drop feature.
- it won't if you have created a new buffer for it prior to dragging it out of
the window. Do this by using 'clone to new view'.

* It would be nice if the drag-and-drop feature also allowed moving a file
between multiple views within the same notepad++ instance.
- it does, you just have to have two views opened first, which makes sense.

Ok, scratch what I said about being able to open at most two
notepad++ instances. It seems something went wrong locally with my
system but a clean reboot seems to have cleaned that up. I can now start
much more than 2 instances (up to some Windows memory usage/process
count/whatever limit).

The other part of the original post still holds:

If you attempt to open a new instance by using the new
drag-and-drop-outside-the-editor feature and it fails - the file you
dragged will be closed and not open anywhere else (real annoying when
you're dealing with a temporary file using some illegible file name
opened from an external application :-)).

    So related requests would be:

      * It would be nice if the original file did not get closed in case
opening it in a different view failed after the drag-and-drop feature.
      * It would be nice if the drag-and-drop feature also allowed moving
a file between multiple views within the same notepad++ instance.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
      Jurko Gospodneti?

Please don't use icons too much. Use icons for toolbar actions only.

My line margin gets printed. Is that the default behavior? I don't like this.
Can you change it somewhere?

If not, this in an request for enhancement... best as an option.

I'm pretty sure I've fixed it. It'll be included in the next release.

How disappointing, NP++ is unusable with big files and no line wrap and noone
cares :(

If by "line margin" you mean the line numbers, take a look at the options
dialog.
It can hardly get any clearer than it is.

Upon rereading, I think I'm the one that's wrong about the original question:
the person probably did want WSWYG rtf which of course doesn't make sense
because
n++ is an editor and not a word processor.

And I just found out that n++ DOES export to rtf. Surprise.

Thanks Don for straightening me out. I actually did the search and the threads
I pulled up said that n++ does NOT export rtf. But it now does. Excellent!

I understood the original question which is now seems odd unless the asker is
using an older version of n++ where the export to rtf plugin is not available.

Once in a while I'll pick on someone's grammar but I suppose that is unfair
since English is the standard and the only thing I know.

The example (of that program that exports to rtf) was funny because an example
wasn't needed.

Summary: I screwed this one up.

Another thing learned is that sometimes telling people to do a search on their
topic, in place of a short quick answer when the answer is known, may be unwise
because the akser's search may not yield the best info.

No; it was unicode. No matter now, though, that you have a fix.
