Did you try
1/ Closing N++
2/ Restarting
3/ Open a new existing file
4/ Close N++
5/ Reopen?

5.4.2u works for me, even localised.

If the new file doesn't show, what does config.xml's <History ...> node say?
Hopefully, config.xml isn't read only.

CChris

What do you see at the end of the config.xml file?
file is located in the NP++ folder.

These new commands do not show in the Search menu in 5.4.2unicode. Nor does
Switch to Search results window.
Deleting nativelang.xml doesn't address the issue. However, it causes Shortcut
mapper to display them properly. Localising blanks out the SM entries.

Am I the only one?

I agree - the same applies to .vbs files.

There's an open bug about this here:

Hi,

Is there a place in N++ that I can add a new extension and map it to a Language.
I want to make .config files use XML for a default language since I'm using
web.config file in .NET and they're XML.

Thanks

I didn't understand you last sentence, but as far as I know this is intentional.
Don didn't want to add too many commands to the menu in order to keep it tidy
. However, I believe there are less useful commands on the menus like "Focus
on other view" for example.

Hi,

I regularly develop batch scripts (*.cmd). As you know, these files use old
dos oem/ascii charset. This is important when, as a French, I have to use
accentuated
characters.

When selecting the default "Batch file" editing mode, the charset used is ansi,
so accentuated characters are wrong. But if I switch to "NFO" style, the charset
used is the good oem/ascii one. But in this case I lose the syntax coloring.

I was wondering how, editing styles, I could combine the advantage of both
display
modes and get batch syntax coloring with ascii charset.

Thank you for your help, vlaKoff

I believe he uses VS6 where the size of REBARBANDINFO is 80 - it doesn't have
all the fields that are defined in VS2008.

Hello Everyone

NP++ is growing better and better, especially since release 5.4.2 which, at
last, account for UTF16 files.

My deepest thanks to the dev team and to sourceforge.

Yet, automatic indentation remains a problem: pressing ENTER on an empty line
produces a new line which is indented according to the last (non-empty) indented
line.

The logic, as in any other text editor, would demand that, in this case, an
new EMPTY new line be inserted.

There are two workarounds proposed in this forum:
1/ pressing CTRL+Z after ENTER to "cancel" automatic indentation
2/ pressing CTRL+D instead of ENTER to "duplicate" the empty line

But honestly, these solutions are counter-intuitive, and not very handy.
Moreover
solution 2/ leaves the cursor on the original line, which is still more
counter-intuitive.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Thanks in advance.
FL

I'm running into this problem too, though the original poster seems to have
missed something.

The problem isn't that the <% halts parsing, the problem lies in the fact that
<% is seen by NP++ as the start of a block of ASP code. And many of the mako
tags do not have a %> which the lexer needs to end the ASP block. So it's ASP
all the way to the end of the file...

Possible solutions/workarounds:

1) A setting to turn OFF the inline ASP/PHP parsing.

2) Define a mako language file and pray to all gods that this automatic ASP/PHP
parsing only happens for the built-in HTML language.

3) Follow every mako tag with ##%> (ie. a mako comment consisting of the asp
end tag)

Mr. HO,
Hello. I may have found a bug. I was trying to emulate the Brief keymap. But
when I tried to map VK_ADD to copy (SCI_COPYALLOWLINE) it continued to insert
a ?+? in the edit window rather than doing the copy. I finally realized
it was doing both. So I think the following line of code in scintillawin.cxx
(line 763) should be as follows.

if( ( ( wParam >= 128 ) || !iscntrl( wParam ) ) && !lastKeyDownConsumed )

Without the logical AND (rather than OR) the key is handled in both WM_KEYDOWN
and WM_CHAR cases resulting in the intended copy as well as inserting the '+'
character. I don't understand the code enough to know if this fix has unintended
side effects. But I thought I would mention it to the experts.
Regards,
Ralph
