Hi!

I was working a lot of time with Notepad++ and it's one of the most useful
opensource
utility. May be one of the best editors.

I have a question related to the language and the file extensions detected with
Notepad++. I will like to assign several kinds of extensions to some type of
languages. For example, I will like to assign .pom files to a XML language,
as they are. It's possible to do this? I can't find how. I only see one tab
in the main configuration panel related to extensions and languages, but it's
not possible to manage the extensions and languages as I need.

Thank you very much for your effort Don HO!

Regards.

I think I remember some old editors were working like this. WordStar perhaps.

If you wish to operate on line ranges,, you can drop a bookmark on each desired
line and thn use the bookmark operations at the end of the Search menu. Or
simply
click the starting line so as to select it, and then use Shift+navigation
commands.

For stream text ranges, you can drop some brace at the beginning of range, drop
another at the end and use TextFX -> TextFX Quick -> Mark to matching ([{<
brace.

I can see how to do the same with rectangular selections, with an extra macro.

What is wrong with using the mouse? It is the fastest way I think.

Settings -> Styler Configurator, select the language in the leftmost list and
type in new extensions in the User Ext : field.

I have the same problem, but in interestingly different contexts. Though I don't
understand a thing to chinese, I could easily understand his screenshot. My
humble, sincere apologies if the displayed language is anything else.

The reporte bug is as follows: * enter some non latin (here chinese) in Find
dialog, normal mode. Then click Find all in ocurrent document
* You get spurious matches that are shown on the Search results window. The
circled ideograms do not correspond to the one in the Find text box.

I got the very same thing while looking for \n in extended mode in a dll file
by mistake. Looks like the same encoding issue in searches, and it has been
already reported iirc.

And yes, somehow it is an alarming bug.

Yes they will disappear. Plan for 5.5, if it changes sooner be surprised. :)

What did you attempt?
1/ Using the localisation dropdown to change UI to a supported language? Then
you'll need to tel us which language and how it doesn't work.
2/ Making a new translation file for your language. Did you follow all steps
from
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Localisation
? There again, symptoms would help.

CChris

I have created a un-numbered, non-alpha sorted, un-levelled line-by-line
sequence
of say:

1. Coastal settlements
or
2. Film titles.

And find that I have created them the wrong way about and wish to invert the
list. Is there a 'cool' way of doing this in Notepad++ or do I have to
(painfully)
promote/demote lines individually.

For practice try this and put the text block in the reverse order:

The Early Bird (1965)
Gonks Go Beat (1965)
The Beauty Jungle (1964)
Stolen Hours (1963)
The Switch (1963)
A Stitch in Time (1963)
A Kind of Loving (1962)
Carry on Regardless (1961)
Follow a Star (1959)
Just My Luck (1957)
A King in New York (1957)
Up in the World (1956)
Ramsbottom Rides Again (1956)
Man of the Moment (1955)
The Angel Who Pawned Her Harp (1954)
The Malta Story (1953)
Trouble in Store (1953)
Alf's Baby (1953)
The Perfect Woman (1949)
The Cardboard Cavalier (1949)
London Town (1946)

Okay, this function has limited value for coding, but isn't it a nice-to-have.
