The actual name was NppDump.dmp. When phpBB is on,one will be able to edit one's
posts and preview them.
The file should have been in either location. So now, what _exactly_ happens?
"Notepad++.exe has encountered a problem", or anything more specific?
CChris

Yet another idea for IdeaTorrent. Hopfully people learn to ask for stuff there
and vote for stuff there.

About the dmp file, nope, can't find.
Since my default debugger was replaced by the Visual Studio JIT Debugger thingy,
it just says "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in notepad++.exe [20612]
Here's what I did to make it crash:
1. Open a file.
2. View > User Define Dialog
3. Save as.. > insert name
4. Change something like, the foreground color
5. Close the dialog
6. Crash
Edit:
After some experiments, I think the problem is the user defined language's
name.
Some examples I tried:
1. Apple / apple - No crash
2. Applee - No crash
3. Appleeee / appleeee - Crash
4. Valkyrie / valkyrie - Crash
I found out that if the name is longer or equal to 8 characters, it's crashing.
Can you please confirm that?

Sorry, left out something:
5. Close the dialog
6. Language > the user defined language you created !!!
7. Crash

I was certain there was one in TextFX, but I can't find it... Weird.
But I agree that would be nice to have.

Hello,
I have just discovered Windows Manager ... It is just what I've been looking
for except for one major problem ... it crashes Notepadd++ after an hour or
so of heavy use (lots of windows open and lots of switching). Possible memory
leak. I'm told others have experienced this as well. Moving this from Open
Discussion
forum.
Thanks,
Cliff

How do I get the cursor not to snap to the end of the last character on a line,
but move vertically up and down.
When I'm coding I often want to start the next line away from the left edge.
However if there is no text (or not much text) on the next line N++ forces the
cursor to the last character to the left, forcing me to have to tab to the
column
where I want to begin. This is time-consuming.

The lag that you're experiencing also has something to do with Scintilla, which
wasn't originally intended to work with extremely large text files.
Thanks for posting the results from your investigations with syntax
highlighting.
Maybe we could put a condition on newly opened files to use Normal Text when
the file is above a given size?
Something for IdeaTorrent, maybe.

Is it possible to write a macro to place text around highlighted text?
For example if I've highlighted some text, and then activate the macro it would
place some html tags around the text?
If this is possible can someone provide an example? Thank you.
