Are you sure? I still have 5.4.3 at home, will check, but I have always used
View -> Show symbol -> Show indent guide to do that.

did you check that individual icon names in toolbaricons.xml match those in
your ...\crystal++ folder? I have tested this long ago, I think I remember I
had to correct a couple. Noyt a reliable hint, but I'd check that though.

That would be a feature request for TextFX. But I wonder if there is any active
maintainer.

> I open a file, select User Defined from the Language menu, and open the User
Define dialog, but changes I make there aren't reflected in the open document.

The document must be highlighted with the UDL you are working with. If creating
a new language, save it, apply highlighting and reopen UDL panel.

> If I save my definition, the XML file appears in %appdata% and the new

is on the menu, but selecting it does not apply highlighting to the file.

Did you specify extensions for your language, and does any of them match the
one for your file?

Again, if creating a new UDL, I'd close and reopen N++ expecting this sort of
glitches to just vanish.

"As usual", there is a workaround by tweaking shortcuts.xml. Add the following
synthetic macro there.
        <Macro name="mark1" Ctrl="yes" Alt="yes" Shift="no" Key="100">
            <Action type="2" message="0" wParam="43022" lParam="0" sParam="" />
        </Macro>
This performs Mark all using 1st style, even though the command is not on the
shortcut mapper (big thumb down). Use 43024 for mark with 2nd style, 43023 to
unmark 1st style, and so on.

Thanks for your question, because it had me reading menuCmdID.h carefully, and
it has a few goodies :-) not all entries are menu items.

Please try with the latest version. I believe this bug was fixed in v5.4.

Ah, yes, you're right, there it is. I had set this on my install a long while
back, and then when I did a fresh install couldn't find it. It seemed like it
*ought* to be in Primary/Seconday View config, especially since that's where
the setting is actually stored in config.xml, so I thought maybe it had
disappeared.
My bad for not poking around more; thanks for the reminder.

Aaron.

So, when you open an asp file, what does the first pane in status bar say? It
should id as "JavaScript file". If it doesn't, then your config is not being
read - check whether you are using default styler or some theme, and whether
there is some confusion between settings in %APPDATA% and some in local folder.
