I'm a new NP++ user with a problem using the FTP plug in.

When I access my website and attempt to download a file for editing, the
operation
is not usually successful as intended. Once or twice the transfer of a .png
file was successful but I have not been able to transfer a .php file. When
a file transfer is not successful, an unrated previous file opens in the editing
window. I've confirmed and established the file associations but the problem
persists and I'm having the same problem in the portable edition as well.

I've clipped a few lines from the FTP transfer:
07:36:49 > Multiline Response (150): Accepted data connection
07:36:49 > Response (150): 14.8 kbytes to download
07:36:50 > Error writing data to file, closing the connection
07:36:50 > Multiline Response (226): File successfully transferred

I've gone through the documentation and searched for help online without
success.
Does anyone have any thoughts regarding what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you in advance!

Mayuko

Sorry, nevermind, it's my own fault. I had switched in an older version of
SciLexer
to work around the Pascal parsing issue, and that broke UDL. When I put the
right SciLexer in, UDL worked as expected.

Aaron.

You can add the double quotes in the F5 broser. This is the expected behaviour
I believe - like in the Windows+R Run command from Windows.

SourceForge hosting changed, and they never asked us afaik. You can find all
releases on http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/files/ It probably
works now. The new UI seems to have ha reliability issues.

About saving: I'm just wondering what the benefits of saving an unmodified file
are. I expect any application to be smart enough to not waste time saving
unchanged
material. Which could actually cause a mess if saving to a closed network
connection,
or to a compressed file opened as a folder.

Could you elaborate? And which erors or data losses could result from not
changing
an unchanged document???

CChris

The docs for FTP_synchronize (in Plugins\Doc\FTP_Synchronize.ReadMe.txt) list
a few cache settings, and I have a gut feeling that the issue you have is
related
to caching. Perhaps a lead.

Also, not supporting resume on error is a known limitation fo the plugin. This
probably comes to play.

Actually, Windows+R adds the double quotes if you browse to the item (rather
than just typing a path), but NPP F5 does not. Would be a nice enhancement!

Thanks,
Aaron.

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to use the Run.. dialog box, but it refuses to open any executables.
I'm using Vista and have tried running both from admin and non admin, using
both absolute paths and specifying the Path in the system variables. The Run!
button displays the click highlight, but does nothing.

Any advice?

(Also, how do i delete saved Run links that don't work?)

Regards

Tris

Post this on IdeaTorent, it may make for better Windows integration by having
the same behaviour, which is not too much nonsensical - I'd be wary of following
Windows' quirks too closely.

I confirm this too : F6 don't work (notepad++5.4.4 - windows 7) :-((

It is the touch which I used most to launch quickly NppExec.

Thanks to the developer which can resolve this problem!
