I have Windows XP SP3 Home, and get hit with updates once in a while. They never
caused crashes on my system. The second last one turned off advanced text
services,
which was a problem when typing non latin characters, but the last one didn't.
I'm lucky perhaps :-)

I'm afraid Scintilla considers it unlikely that you don't want folding, because
it was one of the reasons for it being developed.
shortcuts.xml is a Notepad++ configuration file, so special steps have to be
taken to edit it, as
per http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Configura
tion_Files . Simplest is to use a different editor to edit shortcuts.xml,
config.xml
and friends. That way, your changes will stay, and you'll have to play the macro
often.
I haven't found where in the source code the fold margin is being reset to its
default width. I'm not an experienced C++ programmer, so if anyone can pprovide
a... pointer, that may help.

Firefox / Safari has a plugin called It's all Text which allows to automatically
transfer the text of ny text area (like wiki editing) to an editor of your
choice
and back. That doesn't address the syntax highlighting though.
I wonder if the Scintilla project has such a lexer, I'd be surprised if they
haven't. In that case, adding support would be easy - add the lexer, update
constant lists and recompile SciLexer.dll

No problem at all, It's always a pleasure to get the compliment :)
Could you remove ONLY Change Mark plugin from all of your PC at work to see
if it's the culprit?
Thank you in advanced.

The transparancy effect is very visually annoying and it doesn't help me in
the least to read text underneath it. Instead, what I see is a jumbled mess:
I can't read the find window and I can't see the text it's supposedly revealing
with its transparency. Worst of both worlds. I used to keep my find window
open a lot on my screen for convenience but I cannot do so now, it's too hard
on the eyes.
How do I shut transparency off?
If you don't allow users to shut this off (you really should, with something
that affects one's ability to visually use the software), what is the last
version
of the software that DID NOT have this feature enabled?

There has been a recent effort to make the download pages easier to use (either
using section folding or a top navigation table), consistent and complete (a
couple was missing a third of the reference contents).
However, this has involved translating text to languages me and Don don't fully
master, and some comments were made already aout the need to improve these
translations or additions.
May I ask all of you to review the download pages, take note of all issues you
find with their contents, and email them to me (quasar850 at rediffmail.com)?
Any such modification will be promptly made so as to improve the internalisation
of the site.
Each issue report should pregerrably have the following format:
* language code and section name
* text to be replaced
* replacement text.
Each email may contain one or more issue report, and may relate to several
pages.
Pages in bulgarian, catalan and italian had undergone the most modifications.
Thanks in advance for your contributed improvements.

There is currently a /nl Notepad++ web site. However, most, if not all, of its
pages are in english.
We will appreciate any contribution of pages in dutch so as to make the support
of this language effective. Please send translation of complete pages to donho
for integration to our website.
Thanks in advance for your contributions.

One of the other engineers here posted bug #2840672...
He has rolled back to V4.9.2, and has gone a few days now without a crash.
Don't know if this will help isolate the problem, but thought you should know.
And it does sound like you're lucky!

Where can I report a bug in Notepad++? I've searched around, but I've been
unable to find a venue.

Cool, thanks, but Sort Tabs button never highlights, even with one, all, or
no windows selected. :-/

I can no longer drag a file into Notepad. I assume this is because of the
Chrome-esque "drag out to new". This is annoying as I often do this. Any chance
of a fix or settings toggle?
