It just happened to me with NPP version 5.4.1. I clicked on "Update Notepad++"
and got the "No Update Available" message. Then I went to the website and saw
that version 5.4.5 was available.
There are a few threads on this topic but no responses from the developers.
The simplest fix would be to just remove the menu item. I wonder why no
attention
is being paid to this.

3/ Forum search: you can require messages posted between yyyy-mm--dd and
yyyy-mm-mm,
select what are theforums to search and filter on poster name.
Hopefully we get rid of this soon as SF plan to migrte the whole thing to phpBB.
There is no pubished ETA for this.
2/ Unhide lines: the hidden lines are signaled by triangle shaped markers in
the left margin. Try clicking there, it works. For finer ccontrol, you can use
the TextFX Viz command set.
1/ Removing unneeded items, and adding more useful ones: contextMenu.xml is
here to help. It is a configuration file, the use of hich is detailed in
http:sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Context_Menu

Im trying to make a search replace it looks something like this. :

I need to search for \n (new line) so far so good no worries here..
i need to replace it with "}\n{"
here is the problem

It almost do as intented, but a line should look like this.

With no line brake.
how do i make it look like that. ?

A problem is identified between Change Mark plugin and Notepad++ (which makes
Notepad++ frozen).
Removing Change Mark plugin will remedy your problem.
We are working on this issue, this bug will be fixed in the next release.

I confirm that the problem is present in v5.4.5, which uses Scintilla v1.78
right? (before their fix in v1.79)
As test file, just create a new file, encoded in UTF-8, and write in it
"a??????????..." (that's an "a" followed by at least 150 "1/2"; the
line must have more than 300 bytes for the problem to happen) The first
character
is one byte, which "unalign" the following 2-byte characters.
