Notre Dame, Indiana, on July 24-26, 2000.  Important dates, 
as well as registration and lodging information, are given below.

    October 15, 1999- Deadline for submission of abstracts 
    January 14, 2000 - Acceptance Notification
    March 15, 2000 - Final Paper (4-6 pages) and 
                       Final Abstract due in PDF format.
    April 1, 2000 - Early Registration Deadline
    June 24 - Cutoff date for hotel registration
    July 24-26, 2000 - Conference

    Late Full Registration: $400.00
    Early Student Registration: $75.00
    Late Student Registration: $100.00
    Spouse Registration: $90.00

Full and Student Registration Includes: Admission to all technical 
sessions, the ice breaker, the banquet, continental breakfasts, 
coffee breaks and lunches, and copies of the book of abstracts and
the CD-ROM proceedings.

The 8th ASCE Specialty Conference on Probabilistic Mechanics and 
Structural Reliability will be held on the campus of the University 
of Notre Dame. Founded in 1842, Notre Dame is a Catholic University 
offering undergraduate, graduate and professional programs to 10,000 
students. Notre Dame's cutting edge research programs cover a broad 
spectrum of disciplines and build upon her long-established reputation
for excellence in undergraduate education. Situated on beautifully 
landscaped grounds and the site of the famous "Golden Dome", the

Limited blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved for conference 
participants at the following lodging places:

    Morris Inn: single or double rooms $80.00
    Inn at Saint Mary's: single or double rooms $82.00
    Marriott: single or double rooms $84.00
    Dorm Room: single rooms $28.00 and double rooms $22.00/person

Note that the Morris Inn and the dormitory rooms are within a short
walk from the conference center.  Shuttle service is available 
from the Inn at Saint Mary's and from the Marriott to the conference
center.  All hotel reservations must be made through the Center
for Continuing Education at Notre Dame (see the conference Web
sit for more details).

The University of Notre Dame is located approximately 5 miles from 
the Michiana Regional Airport in South Bend, Indiana, and about ten 
minutes from intercity bus and train service from downtown Chicago. 
Several major airlines serve South Bend with jet as well as commuter 
services. Your travel consultant can help you plan your itinerary.

Abstracts (200 words or less, approx. 1 page) should be submitted by 
October 15. Note that e-mail submissions are strongly encouraged.
